I was thinking about this yesterday and thought about small pull tabs down by the floor. After a few tests with a wire coat hanger, I'll most likely just leave a small gap where the bottom panel meets the baseboard, so I can fish the hanger behind the panel. I only need a little more than a 1/16" gap and since the trim will be black, the small gap will simply get lost in the shadow line. Once the bottom panel is off, I could move my way up the wall. Of course, if a panel is damaged because of torn fabric, I can simply reach in the tear and grab the frame to pop it off.
I did a quick search for small pry bars and offset screw drivers, but couldn't find anything that would work as well as a bent coat hanger. I'm open to other suggestions.
