I have a microsoft wireless laser 4000 keyboard/mouse combo that I've used for several months with my bedroom htpc and it was working great. Had the receiver on the dresser and both keyboard and mouse would work from anywhere in the room. I had it hooked up to a gigabyte 965p-ds3 rev. 1.0 with an e6300, then I upgraded to a gigabyte ep45-ud3l with a q6600 the only thing that changed was the board and processor and now my range is about a foot when I'm lucky. I've tried moving things around, replaced all the batteries, tried a Y-cable on the receiver thinking it may be a power issue, and no luck. I'm using win 7 x64 but I don't think it matters because this all occurs in BIOS too. Any ideas? Anybody? This is driving me nuts!
