Should I hold off on buying until Jan 2010

I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Samsung PN58B860 but it isn't urgent this month. I still have to sell my 60" XBR rear projection and move some things around. Does anyone think it will make a big difference in prices or possible 2010 models if I purchased in January?. I guess I'm a bit more concerned about new models than saving $100 here or there. I realistically need the new tv around Jan, but wouldn't be upset if I go it in house sooner. Feb is starting to push it as I have some work being done to my apt.

At the CES in the beginning of January there will be lots of 2010 models shown but they will not appear on the streets immediately.

If you are only looking at a sammy, it probably makes no difference. Prices will not go up, but I don't think they will drop considerably making it worth the wait.

I'm looking at the same T.V. same situation don't need it just wanting one and I'm waiting the two weeks prior to the super bowl. CES 2010 is Jan 7-10, so we will know what technology is coming for the year. I have seen the last 3 years in my area they do discount tv's a week or two before The Super Bowl, I also seen a report on the News a few weeks back saying that Television are one of the few things that get cheaper and discounted after Christmas and before the Super Bowl. I'm hoping to get the 58860 for around 1.5k-1.7k I have seen it as low as 2K in my area so I do think by waiting you might come across a good deal.

If something better became available in Jan-Feb, than I would consider that as well. I guess I should just wait until Jan unless some amazing deal comes up.

if you want better, buy now and get a Pioneer. the 860 you are looking at is a fine set and is a bargain if you could get it for under 2 grand. The new displays coming in jan-feb will likely not be all that much better than what is available now. The focus isn't on PQ, rather it seems 3-D is what they are looking at bringing to market
