Energy ESW-V10/ESW-V8 vs Polk PSW110

Hi!

I've narrowed down to three different subwoofers for my budget HT and I can not decide between the three. I am currently in a small room as it is an apartment. I plan to take these with me when I move out, so I'd like one that will work well in a bigger room. Price is not an issue as I am looking for subs under $200; I can get the polk for $125, the V8 for $125, and the V10 for $180ish, so I am mostly concerned about sound quality overall for movies, music, and movies. Size might be an issue as I don't have much space.... but whatever, I can deal with it someway or another for sound quality

Anyone with input?

Thanks!

Anyone want to explain why they chose what they chose in the poll?

I'll explain: get Polk and invest the rest of money into advanced high-bandwidth Monster subwoofer cable. It will blow ESW-V10 out of the water, it will be night and day difference!

That was pretty funny

For a serious reply, skip the Polk. Polk doesn't have a good reputation as far as their subwoofers are concerned.

Those Energys are nice for the sub-$200 price range. Always get as much sub as you can afford... so if you can afford the V10, go for it.

A lot of people would recommend you save up until you can at least afford something in the Hsu STF-1/2 and eD A2-300 price bracket. The STF-1 is $260 currently (normal price is $299) and the STF-2 and ed A2-300 are in the $350 range.

Where did you find the V8 for $125?? I was thinking about picking up the ESW-8HG but the V8 is definitely a step up.

V10 is a great deal for $180.

Except that no one's selling it at that price.

Exactly my thought.

If now is the only option, a Dayton or sub from TSC are the best bets IMO.

Thanks for the advice. I am sure to buy those $10000 AV cable kits!

The ESW-V10 is currently at Amazon for $280.
The ESW-V8 is currently at Amazon for $225 @ features merchants via worldwide stereo.

For those of you with an Amex - They are running the wishlist program for $100 dollar credit if you purchase $200 from Amazon. Grab one tomorrow 12/15 at 1PM EST if you can.
