In-store Warranties and repair/replacement

I am thinking about buying that $79 Magnavox blu-ray player from Walmart as an extra BR player for a tv and other house but I am kind of unsure of the quality so I would most likely get the Walmart warranty. How does it work if the unit is a piece of junk and in a few months will not play movies and so on? Will they fix it (I don't know how if there is no FW update), replace it and with what if the same model is no longer available?

For something that cheap, I wouldn't bother with an extended warranty. Definitely do a little research into the manufacturer's warranty (probably like 1 year parts, 90 days labor or something like that). If you were buying a high-end display, maybe, but given that you do have the manufacturer's warranty, odds are reasonable that by the time it does fail, you'll be better off to just go buy another cheapy from Wal*Mart.
