I was on 3.4 and downgraded to 3.15 no sweat. But then it startet to get difficult.
In the guide it says to pres OK on the remote and on the television and hold for 5 sec...... I don't have a OK button on the TV only on/off button (and that isn't doing the trick)
Am I way of? Starting to think that you're not able to enter the EZ-adjust Menu with the generic remote??!? But the guide don't say.
Do I need to buy a different remote to get into the EZadjust menu?
Any help would be much appreciatet.
Thanks alot

i have the same model tv the 37lf2500 and the buttons are on side of the screen.

I bought a LG 32" LH2000, for reasons that I could use the USB for playback of multimedia files. I read all the instructions on the internet and" Wikispaces "manual, but first I have a problem that no diagnostic option in the menu that I see what firmware I have. Another problem: any key combination does not work for entering the EZ Menu. Please help me, and sorry for poor English, regards from SERBIAN.

Anthony, here is what Perplex recently found in the "Official LG xxLH40 Owners Thread" to check the firmware version:

1. Open MENU
2. Go to OPTIONS (but don't press OK, just highlight the OPTIONS)
3. Press the number"1" in your remote 7 times.

Worked for me!!
Let us know how it goes.

One of the biggest reported changes is the fix for lip sync issue.

Also, for those of you who want to but can't get into service menu, try any old universal remote that has code search function.
I did this and first code that locked in worked!
It is a philips universal remote.
Retrieved the code: 002
Other tvs listed for this code are: AOC, Belcor, Brokwood, Candle, Citizen, Concerto, Curtis, Daewoo, Daytron, Dumont, Electrohome, Emerson, Envision, GE, Gibralter, Hitachi, JC Penney, Jensen, Kawasho, Kenwood, LG, Luxman, LXI, Magnavox, Megatron, Memorex, MGA, Mitsubishi, NAD, Nikko, Philips, Pilot, Pioneer, Portland, Proton, Pulsar, Radio Shack, RCA, Realistic, Sampo, Samsung, Sanyo, Scotch, Sears, Sharp, Shogun, Soundesign, SSS, Supra, Techwood, Teknika, Tera, TMK, Vidtech, Wards, Yamaha, Zenith

As previously mentioned by other posters, be sure to ONLY change settings you intend to. Any other changes can brick your TV! In other words, use caution.

The model of my remote is: PH750T
But, ya I would think that many other universal remotes out their with a search function should be able to do the trick.
Good luck!

I have fully 8 remote c. and every function working good, unless ok+ok->EZ menu nothing happened when I press these two buttons.
I didn,t try yet this 002, but I,m linked remote and tv with function general serch and not with code 255, maybe is there problem or not important?

I recently purchased a 42LH40 with firmware ver. 4.30.1. I was able to access the service menu with my Philips PM335 universal remote and successfully enabled Divx playback at first try. Regarding the Divx audio lag and the reboot issue, I can confirm both what ayko and Georgie3 said earlier. I disabled it back after some play around, though, as I discovered there's no way to fine tune and calibrate the video quality in the USB photo/video mode like we normally do in regular TV/HDMI mode. Video quality is important to me so I'd rather have my HTPC do the job instead.

What I miss on this set is the ability to access the "secret" menu no matter what I tried with my universal remote. By secret menu I mean the one that provides an option for "Lip Sync Adjust", not the service menu that lets us do Divx hack. Folks that got an earlier version (e.g. 4.05.00) should know what I mean. I noticed a tiny bit of audio lag on OTA TV so I wish to reset the default audio delay of 20ms back to 0. Anyone know how to access that menu with the newer versions?

Hi ... there are actually 3 service menus: EZ adjust, in-start, in-stop. I've never seen the last one (in-stop) myself, but have used the first two, one of which will let you adjust audio delay. This post shows remote codes to enter each one:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...3#post18081063

You'd have to figure out how to transmit the other codes with your universal remote if it's only letting you enter one of the service menus.

Yes it's a pain that you can't adjust all the video settings during movie playback. I hope a future firmware upgrade fixes this. However you can do a few more limited things:
- Press AV MODE on the remote to select among preset picture settings. On North American TVs if the TV resets when you attempt to change this, try again on a simpler (lower res) movie. The setting sticks for future movies.
- Use ENERGY SAVING on the remote to adjust backlight (brightness). This can be done before switching to movie playback, or during.

This is just about enough flexibility for me, plus I actually enjoy recoding movies

Hello,

Like indicated into the FAQ on lgusb.wikispaces.com section IR+Hack, I want to access in the EZ_ADJUST screen with my own PC and IR transmitter

So, after the file enclosed in your FAQ (f157df069.txt) I use WinLIRC. I load in the field config the file f157df069.txt but when I click on the OK button, there is an error "WInLIRC failed to initialize". But with the file sample.rc (deliver with the soft), there is no problem.

Could you help me (I think the format of the file isn't good ) ?

Hello,
I have a 42LH30FR with SW version 3.2. I tried all the remote control combinations and nothing, no Service Menu and no SW version.

I used my PDA with ND and now I can enter 2 different menus, one with the In-Start button (there I found my version number), and another one with the Service Menu button, but nothing about DivX or Tool Option 3 (only 1 and 2).

Then I decided to do the v3.15 trick. I followed the guide, downloaded the SW file, created the folder, but nothing, I still can't find a way to downgrade my SW to 3.15. The TV won't downgrade by itself, the FAV button thing didn't work, and in the Service menus there's no option to upgrade.
Is it really possible to do it with this TV?

Thanks in advance.
Raul

42LH30FR owner... did you try looking under Tool Option 2 for "USB"? If that option is there set to 1. If you downgrade to 3.15 you're taking a pretty big risk, and your menus will probably look the same. The purpose of downgrade is to enter service menus, which you can already do!

I have just bought a new LG 42LH35FR this morning and it does have an USB port. There is very little information about this set on the Internet, just found only 2 links from the LGE.com site, U.A.E and Vietnam ( my home country ). Are there any way to enable HD playback for my set ? May I just follow the firmware upgrade/downgrade process in the wiki page or something like that? I'm really need help. Here is a picture of my service menu.

Hi, Georgie.
I checked the Tool Option 2 menu and the USB is set to 1. By the way, I used that menu to activate Bluetooth (I didn't know my TV had it!). Anyway, the USB port has been active since I bought the TV but I want to activate the MKV playback. No more options for that in Tool Option 2. Should I check somewhere else? If there's a Tool Option 3, how can I get there?

Thanks in advance,
Raul

Thanks, looks like the "In-Start" menu is what I'm looking for... I read the post you referred to, but I don't have any experience with the Logitech Harmony/Philips Pronto remotes yet. Does each 76-halfword sequence constitute a single key code? It seems the code sequence of In-Start key is very close to that of EZ-ADJ key, which my non-programmable remote already has access to. Hopefully someone will find another trick to get the In-Start key without requiring that elaborated programming.

Thanks for the tip! I tried your suggestion and found the Cinema mode closest to what I'd like to watch with. Although, I really want to turn off the TruMotion feature. Do you have a trick for that?

Turning off TruMotion? Hmm that's fairly easy, so I hope I am answering your question correctly. Under Menu> Picture (Or Video?), then scroll all the way down, or one up , Advanced Controls>Trumotion - High/low/off

Can you elaborate how you enabled bluetooth? You are perhaps the first in this forum to do so!

@ xtimex - there's someone on the Wiki discussion forum who cracked the same model as yours..good luck

Hi, I just bought a LG 22LH2000 and the presence of the USB socket on the back brought me here...!

Now my question, it sports fw v. 3.55 so my only option would be to downgrade and then enable divx playback. However, did anybody try to upgrade back to 3.55 with this model or series? I suppose 3.55 fixes some bugs that 3.15 had, but the readme inside the 3.55 zip doesn't mention my exact model for compatibility.

EDIT: I went on with the procedure (downgrade, enabled mp3 and divx, upgrade): flawless! This is a great feature for such a cheap TV.

Nice try but the topic was about how to access the Expert Control settings during USB photo/video playback mode, like we normally do in regular TV/HDMI mode.

Hi Sangos,
I entered the Tool Option 2 menu (using my PDA, NoviiRemote Deluxe and the Codebases listed in the forum) and there was a Bluetooth entry set to 0. I just changed it to 1 and that was it. I turned off the TV and next time I turned it on, the Bluetooth submenu was active. It says I can use it to connect wireless headphones, so I'll look for a set to try it.

Anyway, I'm still trying to find the Tool Option 3 or any other method to activate USB MKV playback. I hope to get an answer or suggestion before the trial time of the NoviiRemote Deluxe is over. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Raul

You can enable the Bluetooth submenu but the main point is whether the hardware supports or not I tried like you but couldn't find any Bluetooth signal from the TV

Bump!!! I want "Tool Option 3" too. Anyone please?

The only way to do this hack is to slap on a old firmware right? with the LH40 models, doesn't this bring back the Lip Sync problems?

Are there any hacks for the 4.50.00 firmwares?
