whats with all the talks about irda trick? most of you guys have this tv have high definition anyways right? so if your factory remote not working, use the Rogers one, or the one from your cable operator, i have confirmed it works to enter service menu. all this irda trick is making me dizzy. why do extra work when i believe 90% of hdtv owners have an hdtv box of some sort, most commonly scientific atlanta, or even the bell expressview remote will work.

Hello. I saw on LG website v3.75 firmware that has 11.7 MB and another one on openlgtv-org-ru website that has 19,7 MB. What is the diference between the two firmwares? which one is beter for the 32LH2000? Thanks in advance.

Hello bobo10,
Can I just downgrade to 3.15 from 3.63 make the changes and then upgrade to 3.55 ? Will I brick my TV set if I do that ? Why should I update to 3.65 first ?
Thanks

Yesterday I upgraded my LG 37SL8000 to 3.75 firmware version and now my Smartcard is not working anymore. When I plug it in I got a message box "A SmartCard was inserted", but on setup menu SmartCard option is grayed out and I cannot view my encrypted channels.
How can I fix this?

Hay guys,

I am trying to upgrade my firmware to the latest version 3.75 from 3.15 (factory) but the file is not being recognised via the USB by the TV. I have downloaded this off the LG website and followed their instructions to no avail.

I have managed to figure out, after trial and error and largely through this forum that my service screen is accessed by MENU OPTIONS & FAV x7. I have created a file called LG_DVI as suggested and extracted the .epk file into it. B when I access the service screen nothing happens and it doesnt seem to want to find the file. Any ideas?

Tbh is there any point in upgrading it? The only reason I'm trying is that our reception is very bad and has been since we got the machine. So we bought a booster which does help but recently we've been getting all sorts of bother.

Thanks

Hello,

I really hope someone can help with this. My tv seems to have an old software. It doesnt play HD Divx and MKV(not sure if it should)

Here is what I know:

TV: LG 47SL80YR-TA bought from Egypt.
Software Version: I do not know but check attachment.

I was able to get to the software update menu.
I used a newly formatted Fat32 USB Stick.
Created a folder called LG_DTV
Tried with several epk files found on this forum and on russian, portugese and polish LG websites but non seems to work.
I Pressed Menu then Highlighted Option and then pressed 7 times the key 7.
I got the menu attached but it didnt recognise a valid software to update to.

If someone can help me providing a valid software for this model I would really appreciate it. Also let me know if there is something I am doing wrong in the steps I mentioned above, any risks.

Thanks.
LL

Hello.

Does anyone know if the latest firmware for LH5000 (3.75) is supporting Nagra CAMs CI+?

I found on some forums some people talking about another LG TV model, a PK model, and it seems that only few countries had CI+ activated. I quote that post

Quote:

You could also change your country in menu for one country having CI+.

Normally CI+ is available for following countries : France, Italy, Sweden, Finland

If you have a serial cable you could try "rcode" command in debug menu and check.

Here is an extract on my TV set of this command, the interesting part is cip[1] for this countries meaning CI+ activated, all other countries having cip[0] deactivated.

Country {c[0x4652:FR] 4[0] 5[0] C[1] O[0] L[1] V[1] N[0] D[1] A[0] dvr[0] ttx[0] acms[1] dAboost[1] mono[0] i/ii[0] cip[1] f[France]}
Country {c[0x4954:IT] 4[0] 5[0] C[1] O[0] L[1] V[1] N[0] D[1] A[0] dvr[0] ttx[0] acms[1] dAboost[1] mono[0] i/ii[0] cip[1] f[Italy]}
Country {c[0x5345:SE] 4[0] 5[0] C[1] O[1] L[1] V[1] N[1] D[1] A[0] dvr[0] ttx[0] acms[1] dAboost[1] mono[0] i/ii[0] cip[1] f[Sweden]}
Country {c[0x4649:FI] 4[0] 5[0] C[1] O[1] L[1] V[1] N[1] D[1] A[0] dvr[0] ttx[0] acms[1] dAboost[1] mono[0] i/ii[0] cip[1] f[Finland]}

I wonder if this applies to LH5000 too because with my current firmware version (3.69) I receive a message that CAM is not supported.

Also, if anyone have the means and the will to issue the rcode command on a LH5000 with 3.75 firmware and post the result please do so.

Thanks.

are all 'one for all' remotes with a magic key compatible?

thanks

Hi,
I bricked my TV 42LH4000 via wrong FW two days ago and I'm trying to restore it by the serial port RS232. The TV is on stand-by all the time and it doesn't respond to IR or buttons on the TV. Can you tell me which hyperterminal software did you use? I can't find anything useful on the web.
Many thanks,
Nehat

Does anyone know if it's possible to prevent the TV from updating the channel lists?

I've been experimenting with a 19LH2000 and TLLEdit (v4), and am able to delete the radio channels and a few unwanted DTV channels, and it's loaded back to the TV sucessfully, but as soon as a channel is selected, the deleted channels are added back.

I have two very important questions guys.

First of all, how do you check your firmware version on LG 32LH2000 ?

And 2nd... Well, I have a sound problem. On regular antenna, sound works fine, but when a cable guy came and got me a cable box(receiver), it didnt have any sound at all. He tried with both of hdmis but they dont seem to work at all, they are just blank. Than, he tried with AV cable, and there was no sound, only picture. I am pretty much runnin' out of solutions here !

ANYONE ? :S

Hi Im new here I hope you can help me. My problem is: I've had a LCD TV model 32LD320-UA and I had not wanted to update its firmware but 3 days ago I tried to update it with a firmware that I found on the Russian LG website because I didn't know that that firmware was only for European models and now my TV is totally bricked it it never turned on again and the power led only turns from red to blue and from blue to red, I've searched for the right firmware for my tv, it had the 3.12 firmware version I don't know if there is another version that could work on my TV.

Hello,
I have at home a 37LH4000 with the factory firmware.
I want to be able to watch mkv, divx etc from the stick.

I'am confused with so many firmware versions, repeated upgrade and downgrade procedures.

I have a simple question: now, in 2013, what is the firmware version I have to install ?
Do I download it from the LG site, or from here?

Do I upgrade or downgrade directly or should I upgrade/downgrade to intermediate versions untill the desired one?

I've read the previous posts and they are a little confusing.

Thank you

The latest firmware version for LG LH European TV series is 3.75 (I have the exact same model as yours - 37LH4000 -). You can try Scott Adam's method described here earlier and don't mind the firmware version, or you'll need to go back to 3.15 and access the InStart menu, and then back to 3.55 -> 3.75. Good luck, and read carefully entire thread before doing ANY step.
