So, for the reflectors; I don't need to worry about angling those, right?
Na. Just get 'em close to even if you can. They are more for support than sound.

Right on! Hopefully I can get Panel 7-8 w/braces done late tonight when I get home.

They help out with 100Hz and up, but most will have this thing crossed 80Hz and below.

Nice car, i could high jack this thread and turn it into car and turbo talk haha. Ive been searching for a 93 rx-7 so i cant transplant an LS1 into it. but cant seem to find one for a reasonable price.

Well if we were in a race youd be beating me. I just got home from work and now the wife wants some alone time i guess the kids drove her nuts so im still stuck on panel 6. But i told her tomorrow im locking myself in the garage and am going to make some substantial progress if not finish it.

Car/Turbo talk is fine with me. 3rd gen's are fun, LS1 is ideal if you don't have someone locally who can keep your 13B tuned up.

I owned/built this 3rd gen before my current old clunker.

Ahh man that is beautiful. Yea i dont know of any one here locally that even works on rotary engines much less can properly tune anything haha. Id go LS1 so i could build and do all mods myself.

Family arrived monday. They're really crampin my style if you know what I mean. After today, I have 12 days off so I'll be able to get alot of work done.

Tell you what, I'll post some pictures right before I seal up the last 36x36 panel!

Hoping to get all panels done tonight, so that all I have to do tommorow is seal up the final side panel. We'll see, depends how much I drink tonight !
Thats my plans for today just finish it all except the final side panel. And tomorrow my father in law and brother in law will be here to help me cap it up. I think it would be easier to be able to just straight lift it in and out of place with multiple sets of hands. That way you dont have worry about the PL getting pushed out of the way and not making a good seal.

Working alone run the PL, put a few 1/4 to 1/2 inch dowels around the perimeter, put the side in place and align it. Then remove the dowels one by one to drop the side in place without sliding the adhesive off.

Did you drink too much haha? Ive got no excuse except i got really lazy after eating dinner and spending time with the family i never went back out. But i only have the last panel and braces left to cut and install. Question for you though. Are you building two of these no matter what? Or are you going to fire this thing up and see if its enough?

It's finished! I just need to make the mounts for the access panel. The top almost caused me to have a nervous breakdown. 3-4 screws missed their mark. I put a crap load of PL on it, I hope it sealed!

I'll be way too busy tommorow to start the second one, but I'll run and pick up more plywood saturday and start all over again.

Thats awesome. Ive got about an hour or two left on mine but its cold and snowing and i just cant get motivated to get out in my freezing garage to fnish it. Excuse Excuses haha

Somewhat finished the first one. I just need to put the finishing touches on the access panel, bondo everything and hit it with duratex.

Starting the next one on saturday. This thing is a monster.

It looks great man. Are you going to paint inside the mouth? Oh yea what method did you use to mark the side panel?

Yeah, I'll paint the inside when I decide which finish to put on the outside.

I put a screw in each 4 corners. Then, did as much tracing as I could through the inside of the mouth, then turned it over and did as much tracing as I could through the access panel and subwoofer hole. The rest can be done with a measuring tape. Marking the lines was easier than I thought.

will talk later, wife is yelling

Two questions.

1.Are you guys using the scrap plywood to make your access panel mounts?

2.When breaking drivers in, where can I download the MP3 for that?

Im going to use my scrap for that. But i got a question for you. I asked you in my thread but i figured you see it here first. You said your panels were warped also how did you get the final side on? Did you line up the top two corners and then just muscle the bottom into place? Im worried if i do that the screws might crack out of the wood. But i am overly paranoid sometimes.

Yeah, I cut out a perfect 36x36 square for the final side peice but when I laid it on my box, I realized that my box wasn't perfectly square. So, now I have a little overhang and underhang. Nothing a little trimming and bondo won't fix.

My suggestion, cut the side peice a little large. Lay it on top, screw down all four corners, then do all your inside and outside tracing, then trim the leftovers later.
