Battlefield Bad Company 2 game play - Page 2

DeltaDeuce is right, I've never played on someones personal server anyways. Our clan rents one and we play on there. Be happy we can at least find servers close to us all and have pings lower than 100. As for the mods, I never really cared for them either.
Of course this is the first time they haven't released modding tools for the Battlefield series too. You can make as many excuses for them you want, but just like MW2 they're wearing away at the number of privileges PC gamers have over console gamers. Soon there will be no PC game development at all.

And I have it paired wit ha 4850, by no means a slouch of a card (the CPU is holding the card back). I recommend just starting over.

Thanks. I'm still not sure what to do.I may just look into a new mb/cpu combo.

Not making any excuses, it just doesn't affect me. So in reality, I don't really care that they are not releasing the modding tools.
And it probably won't affect 95% of the people that play this game.

It's a non-issue.

Hey oktoberrust, did you ever get your X2?

EDIT: Oh hey look. You said yesterday that you didn't. Maybe I should read before posting.

You want one? I've got a 939 X2 4200+ laying around here.

Just so we're clear everyone, I'm not trying to bypass the forum's "for sale" service to sell a processor. I'm trying to give one away.

Saw that yesterday. It's hot! Can't wait to play this on my 360.

Same here Already pre-ordered for the PC to get the Beta key, and really looking forward to trying that next week. Curious to see how my Core 2 Duo and ATI 4870 will run the game. Brand new engine so hoping it is fairly optimized and I can add AA and AF without the game coming to a crawl.
I just pre-ordered it from steam as they will also be giving out beta invites. It just popped up today on the steam site.

Just an FWI

Never pre-order stuff from steam (especially multiplayer games) individually!!! Go in on 4-pack splits with people!!! You'll get 10% discounts. NeoGaf has threads devoted to this or we can do this here.
Yeah, cuz that's not unnecessary complication.

I was just giving a heads up for anyone who wanted to know. Money is not an issue for me and I'd rather just buy it myself and not have to rely on anyone else.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe me, it's not. I've done it quite a few times and never been stiffed. It's an easy way to save a considerable amount of money, and there's no time lost because the games are announced quite in advance now. It's unfortunate that this forum doesn't get enough traffic or we could do it here more often (but on big releases like this I don't see why not).

From the EA Battlefield Blog:

BFBC2 PC on Steam For Pre-Order
Last week we finally released BFBC2 PC on Steam for pre-order. It was met with an overwhelmingly positive response and in just two days of being available rose to the #2 slot in sales last week and currently #1 for this week on Steam. So a HUGE "THANK YOU" to the Steam Community for the warm welcome and joining us in the Beta through your pre-order and a special "you rock" from our Executive Producer KM (L_Twin).

For those interested in pre-ordering BFBC2 PC on Steam can click here.

BFBC2 PC Beta on Steam
The Beta will appear in your "My Games" tab in your Steam client to all Steam pre-orders for day one access to the Beta.

Look for another blog later today with even more details on the Beta! :-D

From what I've read elsewhere, beta keys will go out the 28th, with the beta starting the 29th. Post here if you receive yours!

Via my Twitter feed:

"OfficialBFBC2

Surprise Reveal: Xbox 360 Battlefield Bad Company 2 MP Demo is live on Xbox Marketplace! Go get it!!!!!!!"

You know, if you want to compare versions. I'll have to take a second away from Mass Effect to check this out.

WTF, XBox360 and PS3 users get to beta for free, while PC users have to pay?

The PC Beta is free and will be released at 12pm today. If you meant by pre-ordering the game then you are correct. I am sure there will be a lot of sites handing out Beta keys like candy though, so it shouldn't be an issue getting in.
It's out on Steam now.
Did you get a code as well?

I pre-ordered from Gamestop but haven't seen anything yet, and the 3 sites EA suggests to d/l the beta client are slammed..
No email code with Steam. It just shows up in your My Games tab. I preordered from GameStop, but once I heard it was going to be on Steam, I canceled the GameStop order and got it on Steam.

Do you have to pre-purchase to get a key from Steam?

Please just quote this so several folks aren't trying it at once.

Thanks, I used the key, so please remove it.

Damn, the game is still heavily unoptimized at this point, they still have a lot of work to do. I am going to wait a while until I plunk my money down on it.
