Moire with elite acousticpro?

Now that I have a new Viewsonic Pro8100 I want to upgrade my screen. The power zoom and lens shift enable me to do the 'zoom" method, so I want to go 2.35:1, with as large a screen as my room will allow. My viewing wall is 154" wide, and my seating is at 13"10". To maximize the screen I want to build a false wall 18" out and go with a 125" Elite AcousticPro screen. My speakers could then go behind the screen, rather than being stuffed into a corner. The only concern I have is moire from the woven fabric of the AT screen. My pj is ceiling mounted about 13'6" from the wall, which would be reduced to 12 feet after the false wall is built. Anyone try this screen? Should I be worried about moire, since the screen purchase is a final sale I'd hate to do all this and get a bad picture. My other alternative is to go with a smaller Carada 2.35:1 screen and not do the AT false wall thing. Any input would be helpful, thanks!

Good point, it works fine at 13'6", but I have plenty of room to move the pj back another 18" if need be. I just need to hear about the image with the Elite screen! I received a pm from a Seymour dealer, that's another option. Of course, then I'd need to ask the same question about the Seymour AT screen!

i remember reading a thread, where the guy had a problem with lines. iirc, the fix was to turn the screen a little. like a wall picture that needs to be straightened.

idk if that will help ya. but there it is

Yeah, that's fine for DIY, but with a store bought screen the fabric is what it is, no option. I've been researching the Seymour screens, that's sounding interesting! A bit more money, but they say they are free of moire, which is very important to me. I'm not gonna give up picture quality to go AT, that's fer sure!

Yeah, that would be the smart thing to do. Of course, most samples are so small moire wouldn't show, but at least I'll get an idea. I'm getting psyched about a 125" diag 2.35:1 AT screen, man that would blow away my 96" 16:9!

I have a sample of this material and will post the results in a few weeks. Look at 1080 line pattern to see if you get moire.

Microsup - how did you AT screen turn out?
Screen works fine, no moire. Some times on a very bright scenes you can see that screen is not solid surface, but that is not destroying a picture.
