Speaker upgrade question

So I just got a Blu-Ray player and now I think the rest of my system is inadequate. First thing I will look at is speakers. Have a BIC Acoustech H100 sub and I think that's fine.

Currently have Yamaha Natural Sound A528 mains (6" woofer, 3/4" tweeter) and AC40X center channel (2x5.25" woofer, 1" tweeter) with a small couple no-name surrounds.

In your expert opinions, would I be better off with matched set of 5 speakers, like the Energy Take Classic or Polk RM series (which strike me as overpriced), or should I go the economy (and wife pleasing) route and just upgrade the surrounds?

I have read that having all 5 speakers of the same brand/series generally makes for a better sound and that seems logical to me.

Matching makes a big difference with the front three, slight difference in the rear channels unless you listen to 5 channel music.

The Take system would likely be a good fit, and then one day when your wife isn't looking replace the front three with RC-10s.

It's not our opinion for 5 identical speakers. it's the rule that recording engineers at Dolby and Grammy follow in order to produce quality mix.

Get the Energy system. Its a true performance audio system.
