Linksys DMA2100 HDMI->DVI Monitor?

I tried to connect my 2100 extender to a lcd monitor via a hdmi-to-dvi cable. However, i can't seem to get a picture. I tried HDMI to HDMI connection for television and it worked. My monitor is a LG 17in 4X3 with 1280x1024 res. Thanks!

Can you post the model number of your LG monitor? I ask because I've read that people have had issues using an HDMI-DVI cable with various makes and models of TVs/monitors. Some work, some don't work at all, some pick the wrong resolutions, etc. Have you considered using the component video connections instead?

The Extender can only output 480p, 720p, and 1080i/p. If you want any chance that HDMI > DVI working you need a monitor that supports one of those resolutions naively (and at that point it should already have an HDMI port).

hehe,
Most likely you will need to use a VGA connection set to 1024x768 to work with your monitor since you do not have the ability to ouput 1024x768 over HDMI from the extender and the monitor's DVI receiver chip will probably only accept PC resolutions for conversion to it's native 1024x768 native resolutioon. And I don;t think you want to send 480p from the extender over HDMI just to get a display on the screen

I don't think I could use component since my monitor only takes DVI and VGA. It's a LG Flatron L1752T-SF

Why wouldn't I want to send 480p just to get a signal?

BEcause ii is standard resoluiton and will just look crappy when upsscaled to 1024 x768.
And 1024x768 over VGA will look just fine.
