B750: WHEN should I actually be USING AutoMotion Plus 240hz?

Hey all, new Samsung 52" B750 owner here, and I've only ever owned a very basic 60hz sony bravia in the past. I basically am confused about WHEN I should be activating Auto Motion Plus at all.

I have HD satellite, HD Cable TV, and an HTPC that I use to watch 1080p x264 files.

No BluRay player.

Do I *EVER* use AutoMotion Plus with any of my sources?

When? wherever you like it. Really you should never use it if you want your display to be true to the source, however its acceptable when watching sports.

If you like it, use it. It introduces artifacts when its turned all the way up, but keeping it's intensity somewhere in the middle balances the smoothing effects with lowering artifacts significantly.

you can try it with any of those sources but your mileage with it is going to vary, if your watching x264 videos that are 24fps (films) on your HTPC try setting your video card to output 1920 x 1080 24hz, it should give you a better effect with AMP on. your mouse cursor is going to lag around the display at this setting though and you will notice lots of input lag from the added image processing

frito, indeed I can output at 1920 x 1080 @ 24hz using XBMC in Linux.. Right now its doing 1920 x 1080 @ 60hz though; I didn't now if I should be using @ 24hz or when to.

So, for instance, right now I have a copy of RocknRolla I'm about to watch (havent seen it); it's the 1080p x264 version. I should now activate the @24hz mode with XBMC and my TV, and try turning AMP on?

Also, should I be using the presets like smooth or clear? Or should I just do custom and try playing with the sliders

if its a film give it a try it should work better

most people like to use custom mode and set anti blur to highest and the other one (smoothing i think) to a low level like 2-3 for best results
