Panasonic Plasma TH-50PE700u and Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray - 24P?

I own a Panasonic Plasma TH-50PE700u and I am very pleased with it's performance. A great tv and high def images look stunning. I now have stepped into Blu Ray (Christmas present) and spent yesterday hooking up my new Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray and want to make sure I am maximizing the picture performance of the pair. They are now connected via HDMI and in the player settings I selected 1080p but it does not want to let me select 24p output ??

Will the TH-50PE700u handle the 24p output of the DMP-BD60? Does anyone have suggestions for the best setup selections to optimize my picture?

I have the same blu-ray player. When I first received the player I still had a three year old 42px60u 720p plasma. The player would not let me choose 24p output since it was obviously talking to the TV which did not have playback capability for 24p. When connecting to my new V10 for the first time, it did allow 24p. I believe that the player and TV talk via HDMI and the player will not allow you to select an incompatible mode. With the older plasma, it also would not allow 1080p to be selected for output.
