Trying to choose HTIB---Custom set-up versus Onkyo HTIB

I have been reading a lot of posts and am pretty confused on what route to take. I have looked at the Onkyo HT-S6200 and the HT-S7200 and they seem like very good systems as starter systems. My only concern is that almost everyone on here says that their speakers are no good. So I am trying to see if you all think that I should go with either these systems or try and piece together a speaker and sub with the Onkyo RC-160 or Onkyo TX-SR607 receiver? As of right now I have two room set-ups, a 52" Sony LCD with Blu-ray and HD cable box in a roughly 14 X 20 room. The other set-up is a 40" Samsung LCD with PS3 and cable box in a 15 X 12.5 room. Please help me out as I am not sure what to consider for these set-ups. I mainly watch blu-ray and listen to music with the Sony set-up and use the Samsung for gaming, music, blu-ray, dvd, and tv. For both set-ups I am looking to spend around $650-$675.

for the smaller room, look at an Onkyo SR507 or Denon 590 receiver with an Energy Take Classic 5.1 speaker setup - watch for good sale prices on both.

For the larger room, to stay anywhere near your budget, consider the same receiver you get for the first room (no use learning to use two different receivers) but use Polk Monitor 50 towers or Monitor 40 bookshelve speakers, CS1 center and Monitor 30 surrounds from www.newegg.com Get the most subwoofer you can within the remains of your budget.

It's not that the speakers with the Onkyo S6200/S7200 HTiB's are "no good"....the are decent, just not up to the build quality of actual speaker manufacturers like Polk, Infinity, or Energy

Is the upconversion on the Denon better than the Onkyo 607?

Is the TX-SR607 and Klipsch HD Theater 300 better than the 7200 HTIB? Are the Klipsch Quintet III good too?
