Hello my brother bought a samsung ln46b750 3-4 weeks ago. The picture was amazing, even kinda 3-d. I was also going to buy the samsung ln46b750 but futureshop sold them all and they will no longer restock them.

So my question is, what tv can i buy that is better than the samsung ln46b750? I have to buy the tv at bestbuy.ca, futureshop.ca or sears (Canada) My budget is under 2k

thanks in advance

yeah its a rip off compared to the current closeout XBR8 prices out there today

XBR8 is no longer made but you can still find them and their MSRP was out of this world high, for good reason they are one of the best if not the very best LCD you could buy

question why did the samsung ln46b750 look kinda like 3-d?

I played with the 46 xbr9 and it didnt look the same as the samsung ln46b850. The 750 looked more 3d. Why is that, they almost have the same specs?

well this so called 3D look could be one of 2 things going on or a combination of both

the samsung has a glossy highly reflective screen the sony's have a semi matte screen that is not very reflective, some people say the glossy screen on samsungs make them look more 3D

the other thing it could be is that AMP is turn on pretty high on the samsung, its a motion enhancer and when turned up too high it makes things look like their moving faster that they should or strangely sony's dont have this effect as much with their motion flow is turn up to the highest point

try playing with the AMP and motion flow settings on each TV to figure out if thats what your seeing

I got the 46" xbr8 at futureshop the other day for $2000. You should look at it as it is an led display with rgb leds that fits your budget. I can't compare the it to the ln46b750 as I haven't looked at it, but I doubt the ln46b750 comes close to the xbr8 PQ wise.

Is that with tax? I saw Series 6 for $2000 earlier this week. I'd still take the xbr8 over the series 6 as the xbr8 is back lit and has rgb leds. Series 6 is not bad thou. I've watched some movies on a 55" and it's beautiful. It also has better aesthetics than the xbr8 as it is much slimmer.

At the same price and screen size, I'd take the xbr8 because of being back lit, rgb leds, matte screen. I'd take the samsung only if I would wall mount it since it's slimmer and if I didn't have lots of windows.

he can't get an XBR8 from the 3 places that he must oddly get this TV from for some yet unexplained reason

IMHO a B6000/7000 etc are a ripoff and your paying extra because its super slim and samsung like to call them LED TV's when their nothing of the sort and just use some LED's to light up the screen the same exact way a CCFL does

i need to get a tv from these 3 places because i dont have enough money to pay for it all. Theses 3 stores have a plan where you can pay 12 months without interest. If theres a store in london ontario that sells a samsung ln46b750 i would be willing to get some of my savings and pay for it all.

Exactly my opinion!

The B6000/7000 is the cash cow for Samsung right now and they have ridiculous pricing for what they deliver.
Yes, the XBR8 was very overpriced intially, too, but at least it's a set that performs well.

Advice for people interested in the B6000:

If you want to do Samsung some good do the following:
- buy a 46" XBR8
- take the spare money
- put it in an envelope
- and send it to Samsung as a present!

That way you have both the better picture and the highest price paid, Samsung has the profit without doing much - Only winners!

Now clear?
