I just got the following for my first HT:

1. Denon 1910
2. energy take 5 classic
3. Martin Logan DYNBLD Dynamo 10-Inch Subwoofer

now I am looking for a pair of front speakers for music, as well to complete the 7.1 system. any recommendations?

Most bang for your buck with Energy, Paradigm, and NHT. You might want to visit Audiogon and look for a gently used pair there. You will probably double your quality for the same price. I have been buying gear there for years and It is a highly reputable site for buying Audio gear. Cheers.

Just make sure your front 3 speakers match in brand and model. You are going to need a new center as well if you buy new fronts.

Yes, you are going to need 3 new front speakers as you don't really want to pair another brand with that Energy center, and you will most likely want a more robust center speaker anyway. Are you by chance located near a FRY's?

could you suggest any particular brand/models?

You should of audition the Infinty Primus 362 at frys. At the sale price, it's quite a bargain. Building around the Infinity P362 IMHO is a great bang for the buck. Just add the PC350 center and use what you have as surrounds.

You are right. As I read the forum, I found out that the center will carry most of the conversations of movies.

How about stereo music? will the music come out mainly from the front left and front right? I am a fan of classic music. Just wonder if there is any brand/model can handle that better than others.

this is my first HT. Really need some expert inputs.

thanks, calnbs. I checked these fronts on amazon and found PC350 at $200 and 362 at $219.95. are these considered good prices? they do have good reviews. I will definitely check these infinity out in stores.

A few days ago, Frys had them for $150/each. Check their stores to see if its still priced that way. These Infinity P362 are quite good. I bought them on sale at frys and was able to build a 5.0 system at that time for under $600 for my 2nd room. My 1st room consist of a system that cost me $2400 for 5.0 and the truth is...my first system is not 4 times better than the Infinity Primus 362.

I don't know much about this store but google for their ratings. Good price on Infinty
