I own the Monitor 70 and have not had any problems with the cabinets. I didn't recommend these cause you said $300 was your budget. The free shipping and prices at newegg are hard to beat right now.

Best Buy is not a dead end, but if you are willing to try out multiple speakers companies like Magnepan, Svsound, HSU, and many others offer in home trials.. So if you want to dabble in the something different, maybe better, than what you got nearby there is little risk involved. it's up to you.

Actually the rock solid speakers are very good, maybe all you need is a $300 sub. I used to use a pair of rock solid with a velodyne sub in my 2nd system. I demoed this setup against a pair of Thiel 1.5, it sounded better than the Thiel 1.5, and I saved >$1000.

I also took into consideration about the high quality bookshelf speakers and came across the polk audio RT55i and have come down to the final decesion between polk audio RT55i and Monitor 70. So my question is, which one should I get? I have a klipsch subwoofer also with crossover control too. THANK FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS.
