What's The Martin Logan MLT-1 Story?

Does anyone know the story behind the Martin Logan MLT-1 5.1 set of speakers being sold at Fry's. There's no reference to them at www.martinlogan.com, and they sure don't fit the Martin Logan profile.

Doesn’t seem like anyone knows or cares about yet another overpriced speaker system with 3.5” drivers and an 8” sub with a brand name...

...I hope it dies and goes on sale for $249.99.

I just got these last night and they're amazing. from what I've heard, martin logan basically disowned them and sold them all to fry's. I don't think they wanted to be known to have cheaper speakers, because the quality on these things is phenomenal. and the cost on them is crazy, about $300 per set.

I probably wouldn't use "amazing" and "phenomenal" in the same breath describing something with these specs. I suppose $300 is sufficient just to utter "Martin Logan" and hope someone is impressed but $249.99 is more appropriate....

I'm sorry, compared to every speaker set I listened to for under $500 this pair was by far the best. the sub that comes with it shakes my whole house

I think these are actually rebadged Paradigm Cinema 70 speakers. I believe I've read that somewhere before. Newegg sells them for $249 but if you want a better set spend $50-$100 more for the MLT-2. You'll get larger drivers and a 10"sub vs the 8" in the MLT-1.

Here are the links to the MLT-1 and MLT-2 on the martin logan website.
