Panasonic & Sony have found a way to boost the capacity of Blu-ray discs to 33.4 GB per layer (instead of 25 GB per layer). The technology used is i-MLSE.

Sony plans to propose widespread adoption of i-MLSE via the Blu-ray Disc Association & other avenues.
