Sorry Ray...we are only supporting our app based on special needs that Tapatalk does not support. Seeing the tables are something more or less new, it is not likely you will see an app from us any time soon. (one issue is the # of versions their are. It makes it hard to support.) Suggest just using the browser built into the tablet.

+1 disappointed at no Tapatalk.

Pre/TouchPad user, iPhone/Android apps won't help.

I've read your rationale and understand it, just registering my opinion.
Just going to add another +1. In all honesty I don't really care how awesome the avsforum app may be I would much rather have my forums in one app.
It's unfortunate avs is not willing to support tapatalk. It is nice to have all forums within one app and, at least with avs android app, not having to setup a 3rd party account with forum runner to get push notifications.

Please reconsider tapatalk support.

+1 for tapatalk support!

People don't want to install a bunch of different apps that do the same thing. Tapatalk already has a HUGE user base. Refusing to support it while creating your own apps seems pretty illogical and stubborn on AVSforum's part.

I guess I won't be browsing your site from my mobile phone, while I continue to browse notebookreview.com, XDA, overclock.net, xtremesystems.org, ect, ect.

I wish you guys would reconsider.

Hi Guys...

Sorry to say that based on the needs of this site with the changes we have made over the years, we had no choice but to have an developer that would work with us for a mobile version of the site. As such, a custom app was made based on the ForumRunner platform.

If you did not read the thread, you would have missed the issues such as this site actually being taken down by installing an off the shelf mobile app. For example, custom code needed to be written just for the search engine alone as we do not use a standard Vb search routine. As such, we can not use such an app. (We would have vs 6 months of development and testing it to run here.)

Seeing we have had over 1 million installs of the app, it does not seem to be an issue to many, many, people to use an app that is made for the site that they use a lot.

I posted this in case you have not read the thread itself and just added a post without knowing the details.

Thanks

million installs, eh?

Well per the developer sites stats taken from the App Store and Marketplace stats...

iPhone Hits: 1,795,353
Android Hits: 472,540

..From what I understand, the HIT is a download. This could also taken into account the version updates but not sure. So I rounded down. Still impressive one would think for such a site and app.

I understand implementing Tapatalk support on AVS would take a lot of time/work, but I am still submitting a +1 for it

++++1 FOR TAPATALK........

....Admin,

Just look at how many of us search google for "avs forum tapatalk"

If you have a true interest in the development of avsforum then adding support for tapatalk would greatly increase your member participation.

This is just a kind fyi,

Graham

Another vote for Tapatalk. I rarely visit AVS anymore because all my forum browsing is on Tapatalk and I just don't see/think of AVS anymore. I go to Home Theater Forum all the time because they are on my Tapatalk list. Every other forum I visit is on Tapatalk.
Yes, please make your Forum available via Tapatalk.
I also use tapatalk on my iPad and it is just Great to have all my active Forums in one place.

Please reconsider, even if tapatalk support might be Limited, because of the way you have setup the forum.

Excellent news! I just bought Tapatalk today, fully expecting AVS to be supported as it is one of my most visited forums. I was very disappointed when I couldn't find it in the list and a Google search just brought me here. This is fantastic, thanks!
You should now see AVS Forum on Tapatalk. Be advised, their PM system doesn't support our threaded PM setup, so that part won't work.

Nah - the signature makes people wonder what tapatalk is and leads to them finding out about what a great product it is. Kinda like evangelizing about TiVo back in the day. smile.gif

I like most things about the new app better, but mine will only show the most recent 40 posts and won't show up to date posts on some other threads.
The old app would automatically set all posts as read every time I used it, but was easier to use than the website to monitor subscribed threads.
