Onkyo HT-S6200 help

Hi all,

Long time lurker here. Wanted to thank all of you for the helpful advice. I purchased and set up the HT-S6200 partly due to this forum and its help thus far. However I came to a problem after my set up (Panasonic 42in 720p, Pioneer DVD player (non-BD), Cox cable box in my room). I only used 5 speakers (left the two rear speakers out) and hooked HDMI from the DVD player to the Receiver and HDMI connection from the receiver to the TV. Eagerly, i turned on the tv and sound system and put in Pan's Lab dvd...as the movie started, there was absolutely no sound coming out from the surround front left speaker and surround right speaker, while everything else works perfectly. I've checked the modes and sometimes the other two speakers (front right and surround left) have sound sometimes they dont, but the constant is that the two speakers dont have sound whatsoever. I unplugged and replugged them in to no avail. I am turning to you for help. Thanks in advance!

Verify the HDMI cable is inserted properly, that may be your problem.

So i have the HDMI cable Out from DVD player into receiver HDMI slot 1 (marked dvd/bd) and HDMI cable out from receiver HDMI out into the tv (only one out outlet on the receiver). Nothing changed stil soundless from the two speakers.
