Keep in mind none of these sets are shipping until August. A lot of things can happen in 8 months. Impressive none the less.

Nice step. I'm still waiting for the 106" OLED 3D 960hz panel for under $5,000. That's my next upgrade, I think.

Remember when the 40XBR3 first came out? It was around the same price as this 72inch Vizio. That was only 4 years ago.

vizios don't typically go down in price... maybe 100 off, margins are slim as they are. If this was a sony... it would be least 10k.

Based on Vizio's history, don't bet on it being available in August. Nov or Dec would be more likely. This announcement must have put a lot of pressure on other TV makers. I'm looking forward to seeing one.

Did you not read the last sentence? It is still determining how it will select it's dealers. They aren't referring to the Costco's etc. but High end Electronic Stores.

The 72" for $3500 was the most impressive to me. Check out the link for the full run down. I was all set for the 551XVT this year but wow is that a tempting price.

Why would someone want to watch Tv in realtime? The capability to watch 2 HD inputs side by side would make more sense.
I wish they would dump all tuners and all analog connections and lower the price some.

looking deeper, looks like i will be skipping the 2010 VIZIO line of 72 inch TV'S and will hope 2011 will provide what these 2010 are lacking listed below

hdmi 1.4, these tvs will have hdmi 1.3 and that will not produce TRUE 3D

No Advanced True Wide Polarizer

no usb 3.0 for thumb drives that could also use 2.0 devices

MASSIVE FAIL
