What is the best projector w/ lens shift for around $1500?

I need Lens shift because I will be mounting my projector at an equal height as the top of my screen.

I was reading up on the HC3800 and really liked what I read, but saw it didn't have lens shift and don't think it would work for my situation.

So what is the best projector I could get below $1800 with lens shift?

Ambient light won't be too bad, but will be present.
I will probably be watching more sports and tv then movies.
The lights will be on most of the time.
Screen size will be 84".

I'm not sure it's the best but one of the cheapest is Epson 720 home cinema and it's highly rated at projector central. I bought one but sent it back as it's huge compared to my dlp (now being repaired) and wouldn't fit my current mount. Looked like a quality pj though. can get for <$1000

Some pjs have a tremendous offset that may work for you in dlp format. However, for a unit in your proposed budget the epson 8100. I have one and it is very nice for the money. Getting lots of attention and racking up 'years best' awards at several places/publications. For your needs it fits very well indeed as it soars with hdtv sports and the likes...performs well with ambient light situations as well. Problem is waiting for one or finding in stock. Check review at projector reviews dot com and projector central.

Another vote for the 8100.

I would say 8100 as well. The Sanyo PLVZ700 can be found for a good deal as well and that may suit your needs.

As others said, likely the Epson 8100 is your best fit. I tried one out recently and while I decided that I'd rather spend a little more to get into a better class machine, it's pretty good. If your budget can stretch just a bit or you can find a discount, you might be able to look into the Panasonic AE4000 which is in that next higher class of projectors. Retail is $1999 so if you can get 10% off, you're there.
