Shorter speakers than Studio 100s?

I have Paradigm Studio 100s for my fronts with a 690 center. I'm using them for 100% HT and games in a dedicated theater with an Arcam AVR600.

Now I'm starting to mold the theater room, and with the size of the inlet in the wall where the screen is, I think the 100s are too tall as they're going to be in a built in. I think they're 45 inches tall.

Does anyone have any ideas of shorter speakers that would play well with my Arcam? Also, would a new center be necessary? I do like the 690...I'm not sure I ever really take the 100s to their potential so I don't feel too bad with selling them and getting something better....just not sure about compatibility and options....

Would appreciate anyone's help! Thanks.

I'm sure you have thought of this, but why not Studio 60s??

That was actually my first thought, but they're only 4 inches shorter. I was thinking like a foot shorter...if that's even possible without sacrificing too much quality.

Thanks for replying...

OK, so I guess if you really like Paradigm (I do too !) you might start thinking about in-wall LCR's or one of their other in-walls that have virtually identical components?

I guess you could go to B&W...they have some high-quality "squat" speakers.

I know they are discontinued now, but mabye some preowned Studio 40s.

I went thru the short speaker search, mostly because I want to place my LCD TV at a reasonable height above my towers.. I plan to have 3 of the same speakers across the front.

I am half for Monitors with stands and half for towers.

I won't mention monitors because no matter what you can get a stand to fit.

BUT towers, the shortest "tower" I found was the 99dB efficient Klipsch Heresy III

PSB Imagine T are short also.. Of course I drool over the B&W 802D! I would have to budget for amps to match and right now my living room isn't ready for a "Lamborghini"

Any other sub 35" quality towers out there?

I have never had the chance to listen to a set of Heresy's, but I have read nothing but good things. They have a lot going for them.
Good sensitivity.
Large mid woofer.
Horn mid-range.
Horn tweeter.
Large source of parts if you have any problems.
