Looking for a $100 sub for an STR-DN1000

As the title says, I'm looking for a sub for around $100 that works with my Sony STR-DN1000. Would a Polk Audio PSW10 do the trick?

I'm a bit of an audio-n00b so will the Polk connect into the connection in the picture below? Forgive my ignorance but my last setup was an all-in-one samsung mini system. The Polk seems like it would be a perfect fit for my small apartment living room, but I need to be sure it will actually connect to the STR-DN1000.

Yes, it will connect just fine.

That polk sub would do fine for $100. But for around $150 you can get an Acoustic Audio sub which is a great budget sub. I havent been on the forums for a while but there were a few positive reviews a while back. I owned 2 of them myself before diving into the DIY realm. So thats my reccomendation for $100 subs. Heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com/New-12-Powered-S...item2eaa437754if you seach for them you might be able to find an auction and pick it up cheaper i paid $120 ea shipped for the 2 i use to own. Or if they have the best offer feature offer $120 shipped they should take it.

I owned the psw-10 and hated it. I would look at whatever else is suggested. Granted I am a basshead but the psw10 didn't show any sound quality, never mind volume

At $144, you can also get the BIC V1020 from Amazon, or shopblt will probably send a BIC F12 your way for about $180. Costco carries an Energy sub for $100 that is low end but will do its duty.

I've seen a lot of disparaging remarks about Polk subwoofers around here, but have no personal experience.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll go with something else.
