These Panasonic LCDs have the excellent IPS-Alpha LCD screens which are regarded as the best. My next door neighbor has a 37" 1080p model and it looks great - better than i would have ever expected (i set it up for her in her bedroom).

Panasonic also made a 42" 1080p LCD TV last year that looked excellent (for an LCD). This year they're debuting their new LED LCD models and again will have a 42" model.

Don't get me wrong, Randy. Panasonic's '09 X1, C1, and U1 series plasmas were all great for the money...and yes, their LCDs were also rated highly (I sold both Panasonic's and Samsung's over everyone else's); but they don't offer groundbreaking features, either, at least not in the sense that G or V series plasmas do. If given the choice, I would pick an entry level Panasonic OR Samsung LCD, as opposed to a Haier or Sylvania, especially considering that they are similarly priced. My point is that people need to be educated about how to get the most from their display. Maybe I used the wrong terminology, and should have used "entry-level" as opposed to "low-end". I will change my posts to reflect this.

That site also says that they have a G20 in their possession and will be doing a review. Hopefully that means that AVforums will also have at least a G20 to review as well.

Wait, just saw on the flatpanels site the VT series is brown?

I haven't had a chance to check the other sites yet, but does anyone know if the USA based vt25 also going to have a brown shell?

Considering the base prices, that means we should expect about 800-1000 dollars more for the 3d sets as compared to the regular sets if there is a direct comparison, but as said before different countries can have completely different price points for the same equipment. Glad to see they have a date set though.

I agree, I'm thinking $4799 for the 65VT25 if you look at last year's EU price for the V10 and compare it to the 2010 EU price.

Do you think it is worth waiting for a 54 inch VT or try and pick up a pioneer kuro 111 or 101 instead?

If 3D matters, then yes. If not then get a Pioneer.

C'mon, that is a DANISH website - it has no bearing on what we're getting here in North America.

"Please note that these are the European Panasonic models. The US model overview can be found here. FlatpanelsHD will go to Munich tomorrow to see all the new Panasonic TVs so stay tuned for more views on the new line-up. Prices have been converted from Danish Kroners and may vary in your country."

My walls are not brown, and it MIGHT work here but I think they are seriously limiting themselves with the high end unit coming stock with a brown tint. Honestly black is simple and it works, brown will look great in some environments but not others.

Anyone who REALLY cares about looks to the point that black is not acceptable will go out and buy/build an enclosure. I think this is a demographic miss and just something the different vendors are doing to keep up with the jonses since others started offering colors first.

Do you guys think brown tv on brown walls will look like crap? I really want a 2010 V series
post #2208 of 5876
I am bit confused between G25 and G20. What are the basic differences? Is G25 going to have 96Hz mode for 24p content or is it limited to VT25?

Here is some video coverage of the CES 3D unit. About forty percent of the way into the clip you will see a close up of the frame. You can freeze the images and take a good look at it. It does not look very brownish on my monitor, but decide for yourselves. Be sure to hit the enlarge feature on YouTube in order to get largest image size.

I thought we always knew it was a bronze bezel? The only new info here is that the V20 looks the same but has a titanium bezel.

I think the addition of 3D is cool, but not a must have for me, However the extra 5 inches is worth A LOT to me so I am picking up a Panasonic.

At last that have removed this foolish thick glass ahead a matrix and have put the normal optical filter. (Pioneer - forever!)

The bezel almost looks flat black.
That would be a great!

As my warranty company continues to take its time to resolve my claim for my dead HP 65 inch DLP ( they were so nice to offer a Mitsubishi replacement.. ahem ) I'm like many here wondering about release dates and pricing. The 2009 models have been nicely discounted here locally but I'm leaning toward waiting for the 10's.. have already been 7 weeks without my set so what's another few weeks !

I did notice on Panny's website tonight the 54 inch S2 is $200 less MSRP wise as compared to the 2009 S1. Hopefully, that will be similar for the VT25 series. Is somewhat hard to pass up on the bargain prices available at the moment but it may be less of a bargain than I think if the new ones come out cheaper than the 09's.

Hope I am not rehashing what has already been posted.. I ddi a quick search and did not see the S2 prices mentioned. Nothing posted regarding the 58 inch or 65 inch versions.
