These seem to be the list prices. I did discuss this with the Casio Account Manager at a trade show in February, as the local list prices were going to be somewhat higher than those announced at CES, and he told me that his dealers were suggesting that even that entry-level unit (XJ-A 130) that Casio USA is selling at $799,- should go for at least one thousand Euros, that would be excluding 19% VAT. It is going for 749,- excluding VAT, 900,- including tax. Perhaps one can find a slightly cheaper dealer, but currently they are still selling them faster than they come in, so my guess is they will stick to list prices for a while.
Perhaps Casio is listing them more agressively in Germany, Pioneer and Panasonic Plasma's in Holland always used to list upto 1000 euro's higher than in Germany, situation is much better with the new G20s, but haven't checked out the High-end series 65"-ers, yet;-).
The cheapest seller for that 130 unit mentions 'mindestens 24 Monate Gewährleistung', so what is the warranty on these things in Germany, overhere it is three years and 6000 hours on the lightingmodule?
The second cheapest vendor 'in Berlin', also mentions: "24 Monate original Herstellergarantie*
*Die gesetzlichen Gewährleistungsrechte werden durch die Garantieerklärung des Herstellers nicht beeinträchtigt"
COmpared the prices again, and except for the XJ-A 130, price difference is marginal, perhaps another Dutch dealer will offer 50 euro off and thereby beat German prices.
