Use you current settings playing a few demo scenes then boost it and play them again. As for testing your amplifier someone else more knowledgeable will have to chime in here. Seriously though if you think the sub doesn't have enough tactile bass then crank up the sub level channel in your receiver.
Thanks. I'm gonna try it out today. I only tried +2db with some music and it seems like it might be good for that, but for movies and games it might work better. Makes things rumble an extra amount.
I just bought a new amp yesterday. Worst case scenario, I'll add 2 more shakers and replace any that might be bad if it's not the amp. Then I'll have 2 amps to work with instead. There's plenty of room behind the couch to hide them.

I'm not familiar with the STF -2, so I'm not sure how it stands up against the LV12R.
