^^ Cool. When is delivery date?
UPS openly admits to having them in custody but I guess they're being held for ransom as they've not posted a delivery date yet.

(if you don't want to have to submit an insurance claim, leave an envelope with non-sequential, unmarked bills under the small planter to the left of the ......)

...eek.gif

Based on an earlier conversation with Brian, he commented it should take about four or five days to get here which would make it sometime about the end of next week.

I received my 2nd fv15hp today. This is my first time using two subs so I have a little homework to do, but I played a movie and they sounded great. I down loaded rew and I'm ordering a mic to see where I'm at. My room is 2050 sq^ft so I should have plenty of bass.

Just ordered an E15HP based on a lot of research. I've never heard a Rythmik sub. This will be in a tiny HT room (<2000ft^3) with wharfedale diamond 10.2, 10.cs, emotiva ERD-1 and an X.4000 receiver. My buying decision was based on SQ above everything else. Will post my impressions in a few weeks.

Dollar to doughnuts, you'll be convinced you should have bought two. tongue.gif

I think that Rythmik offers a return buyer discount, so he should not lose much by buying a second one later on.
DrSyn: I think you will be happy with your choice. Sounds like a pretty sweet setup given the rest of the equipment you have listed.

DrSyn congrats on the new order. Let us know what you think when you get it.

Since you're posting video's... have you seen this one? It drags on a bit too long for my tastes, but it does show the FV15 pounding away on this guys house.

^^Yes, it was also posted on the previous page.

I just ordered my FV15HP in Piano black! Thanks to everyone for the help and recommendations. I will start with one, and maybe upgrade to a 2nd after I see how one performs.

Very excited!

Congrats on your order. My understanding, if you can dial a single FV15HP in flat, the single FV15HP, will rock your world and according to one FV15HP owner, will have you walking around the house looking for cracked sheetrock. Now that's performance.

Beeman is right .... I just got mine setup today. After Audyessey XT it set the sub -5.5db and -20db on the receiver the WWZ grenade scene was insane. My dog freaked out, my son yelled do it again, my wife asked me WTH was going on and I checked drywall for cracks.

It was Awesome!

(Sub is directly behind the couch for now, single port mode. I ran out of time to try other placements today)

Ozzie, it was your comment to me I was passing forward. Without checking with you, I didn't want to ascribe the comment to your person but thought your comment was germane to the conversation.

No worries. I still can't stop grinning. No sub to FV15HP is a fun upgrade smile.gif

How does one know they are stressing their subwoofer? I've been playing with the FV15HP and it has been a lot of fun. I've been going through all the demo material I have. I've never gone over -15db on my receiver and Audyessey set the sub at -5.5 dB, gain set at 50% on the amp. I also have dynamic eq off.

I find it hard time believing it will go louder and keep its composer. I have the limiter on, rumble fiter off (1 port mode), and filter set to 14hz low. This is per setup instructions.

With these settings how do you know if you are stressing it? The most amazing scene so far was the grenade scene in WWZ. I didn't realize it was pulses of bass. The only other time I heard it it was one long "smear" of sound. With this sub it was distinct pulses that shook all the walls and windows. Pretty crazy, especially at such a low volume. Is that scene safe? Sorry if this is a stupid question. It is just so intense. The amp has never even gotten warm.

Does the amp filter out content below port tune to protect the driver?

In the case of the FV15HP, it seems it gets a port chuffing thing going. From there, the sound quality goes into the tank and the sound starts to sound like outhouse droppings.

^^@ -15db MV without running the sub hot, nothing is going to hurt the sub. You can try to push it harder with MV increases while observing the light in the back on the amp. If it does not change color or flashing (don't remember), you have not reached its limit. On the side note, if you do not listen at reference level, it is best to leave DynEQ on as it will boost the bass and more bass as your MV is decreased. When increasing MV, DynEQ will boost less bass until you reach reference where it does nothing.

Not fair. You get to go listen to eight sealed 18" SIs while we're still waiting for UPS to release our sub order into our custody.

Thanks for the info. I was keeping dynamic eq off for now so I knew exactly what was being sent to the sub. I'm not exactly clear on how much dynamic eq boosts the LFE channel.
^^Okay, now turn DynEQ on without touching the MV, you will hear the difference ....more bass

One good thing about my traveling job is it allows me to listen to two bad a$$ systems so far. Tomorrow will be the third home I visit with another bad a$$ system (not just bass but also speakers, butt kicker, projector, etc....). If things stay as planned, I will be listening to three Triaxes in one room in two weeks. You have been considered upgrading your subs for a while now (6months may be?) so in a few day, my guest would be this Thursday, you will be in bass heaven like all of us here smile.gif
post #12238 of 15213
Mmmmmmmmm! Bass heaven. biggrin.gif

Yes. Just leave the limiter on and don't set the port switch to 1 if you have 2 ports open.

So, with a new amp, I've discovered there are 2 ground loops in my system. PC HDMI to receiver and sub RCA to receiver.

What's the best way to solve the sub RCA to receiver ground loop? Cheater plug on the sub worked already but is it safe? Would RCA isolation cable be a better solution?
