We will keep all exis ting models except FV15 regular power as the shipping cost of these is just too much. If customers can accept subwoofers of this size, then FV15HP is a better value (considering total cost including shipping). The FV15 is still a good value. But often we face competition and we need to adapt.
Here are the two models we already know for sure will be available by end of Jan.
F25 will be available (HX800 amplifier with 400Wx2 power amplifier modules on one heatsink).
LV12 (rear port firing subwoofer), replacement model for FV12.
My wish list (meaning currently working on) are:
L12 (compact sealed subs of size 14"x14"x15") with HX400 amplifier. The size is designed such that they can ship via postal office to most countries. The only downside is it does not have PEQ function. But this will become our entry level sealed subs. F12 will stay as our premium 12" subwoofers. There isn't really much work left to do here. I will get a sample in a couple of weeks.
LV12HP (I am not sure if we want to call that) with HX400 amplifiers. The size is tentatively 17"x19"x23". This is pretty much the largest ported subwoofer we can have without incurring huge $50 large package up-charge from UPS. This will solve the high shipping cost problem we currently have with FV15 regular power. We are still not sure if we should use 12" or 15". With such a narrow baffle size, 15" driver may look just too big. It will have two 3" flared ports (tentatively front firing), multiple tuned to 20hz or 14hz. It will have slightly less output than FV15, with much more attractive pricing.
All of the above two wish list models use paper cone drivers. I think the first generation FV12 demonstrated the "scalability" of the directservo technology. So we will continue to add more affordable and keep the "F" series as the premium models.Edited by Rythmik - 12/21/12 at 7:33am
