i have a problem when im are watching blu-ray movies witch haves True-HD but not when it is DTS-HD.

When im are playing movies witch has DTS-HD the receiver text shows that the sound is DTS, but when im are watching movie witch has True-HD the text on
the receiver tells me that the sound is Dolby Digital.

On The BD player Sound setup i have this setup.

Dynamic Range Compression - ON
PCM Down Conversion - ON

And im are using Bitstream and second sound is of

Im are using HDMI Cabel both to the picture and sound

Dynamic Range is another issue all together but I would recommend that you turn that off, it has nothing to do with the issue you are discussing. Dynamic range compression keeps the "Big Explosions" from sounding Big meaning it limits the volume on loud Sections of a movie.

You need to turn the Down Conversion Off as you are down-sampling or "Down-Sizing" you could say, the signal. This is most-likely the cause of your problem. Both the player and the receiver are capable of decoding the Hi-Def Audio.

I would recommend that you set the players out-put to Bit-Stream so that it will let the Yamaha do the de-coding and so that you see the DTS-HD and the Dolby-Digital HD show up on the front display of the player.

You could set it to PCM output on the Panasonic but then you will only see PCM or Multi-Channel on the display of the receiver.

If you go to the specific thread on your player here;

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...light=dmp+bd30

And there will be a lot of other extremely useful information there as far as settings etc. This is a tremendously helpful and large Forum. Poke around in here and you will be educated immensely.

Good Luck, report back after you make the changes.

On your BD 30 remote control press setup and the screen will appear with all of the choices. Then scroll down to I think it's audio and press on it. They all should be set to bitstream. Please read the manual.

i Have now turn of Down Conversion and all sounds are set on bitsream but it only says dolby digtal in dts mode pcm

Also check the movie that you are playing and ensure that it has HD Audio. Obviously DVD's will not have Hi-Def Audio, only Blu-Rays. If you have the unit set to bitstream and hooked up HDMI for audio all should work, you should see the HD Audio displayed on the receiver. I am not familiar with the set-up of your receiver but you may want to check that as well.

The Panasonic BD30 does NOT decode the high def audio formats. If you select PCM or have the player mix in the secondary audio, it will be downconverted to plain Dolby Digital. Select the bitstream option for everything and turn off all other audio options and you should have TrueHD in all it's glory (make sure you've selected the correct track if the movie offers the option).

Dolby-HD on the reciver it says PCM also when im playng DTS-HD movies.

But when i turn PCM Down Conversion to ON and im are playng DTS-HD it
shows on the reciver, and im are sure that i have the right sound track in the movie, and when im are playng Dolby-HD movies in that setting the reciver the

steelbeat - this is not that difficult.

On the BD30, set all digital outputs to bitstream, not PCM. Set secondary audio to off. The BD30 will send the encoded HD audio tracks to your receiver for decoding. (As others have noted, the BD30 cannot decode the new formats itself.) If your AVR says it is getting PCM, then you have not set the player correctly.

On your receiver, set the HDMI input you are using to Auto (or whatever your AVR calls the setting that processes audio regardless of format). Turn off any other surround modes. If your AVR has a setting to disable HDMI audio to the TV, use it. It might be something like AMP, with the other options being TV and AMP + TV. You don't want the HDMI handshake with the TV to affect the audio output.

That's all there is to it.

I have done this the text on the receiver says Dolby Digital, if i go to Option on my receiver and Signal Info this is what i get.

Audio Format Dolby Digital
Channel 3/2.1
Sampling 48kHz
Bitrate 640kbps

HDMI In 1080p
Hdmi out 1080p

And on my BD setting this is se setting

Dynamic Range are set to off
pcm down conversion i set to off

in digital audio out put all sound formats are set on Bitstream,
Secondary Audio set on off.

You may want to reset the player and/or receiver. That often works when everything is set correctly, but you are getting the wrong codec.

Also, there's an Owners Thread for the BD30 where you may get better help:

Yep, I had a couple weird audio things happen with my BD30 when I first had it after changing around the audio setting too many times. A reset to default settings cleared it up.

Well i got some new problem i got to se setup and did a default setup and did all setting once more time and i started a BD movie mith True-HD sound and the text told me that se sound was True-HD but the sound in my speaker was bad so i did go to signal info on the HD reciver and there was no numbers on the signal. So i turned the movie to go to the setup on the BD player and the screen was black i did not se the setup but if i started the movie all was fine i could se it. So i turned the BD player of and reciver and after some minuts i started the BD player and i could se the screen, but when i turned the reciver on the meny was black. But i can still start and see a movie but the sound signal is still wrong.
