If I think the difference between B650 and B6000 is not worth the extra money, is it going to be worth the money, for me, in the C series?

I had the chance to take a live look on the sets at the Samsung European Forum in Vienna, and i would say that only PQ wise there is a development from the 6 to the 7 series (doesn't matter if 7xx or 7xxx).
I guess that the 3D Processor has much more power which is utilized for PQ as well. So if you want to have a bestbuy for PQ i think the 7series would give you the most. If you want to have a very good deal, than the 6series still gives a very good PQ for a better price.

First pricing of the 40" C7000 in Germany: 1899 EUR I guess its the C7000, its nowhere mentioned

$150 for the glasses. That is way too much. Having 3D just got a little less interesting for me. I am still interested in the C8000, but mainly because I want a new and bigger TV. The 3D was just gonna be a bit of a bonus since the set can do it and I already have a PS3 for a player. I suppose I can pick up the glasses sometime, but not until they are around $100 or less.

In case anyone wanted to know I just got some contrast specs on the C7000 and C8000:

I don't care much about dynamic contrast ratios...but wasn't the LED-backlit (not edge) B8500 rated at 7,000,000:1 dynamic?

Not that the actual numbers mean anything...I just think it's good news that the C8000 is advertised with a higher ratio than B8500.

Oh for sure! I was bent on purchasing an 8500 here in Canada... but alas they never arrived

Dumb Canadian market got conned by some good ol' marketing principles employed by Samsung (falsely advertising LED TV's instead of LED Backlit LCDs). Everyone was amazed by thinness and the demand for 6000/7000/8000 skyrocketed. As long as Canadians were soaking up these thin panels, at the sacrifice of quality (of which most have little to no knowledge of), then Samsung could cook their goose.

Thank goodness for CES2010 though. Samsung's lineup sorta disappointed but the LG's caught my eye. At a lower price point, hopefully continuing the good tech. in LHX and LH90.

I saw the 46C7000 at Fry's today, took a quick look at it and its user menu. The uniformity looks quite good on it, I didn't see any problems in the corners like the 2009 sets. The backlight can be adjust in 20 steps. In the advanced settings area, I saw some points of interest. There are now 'expert' patterns in there that can be brought up, one for use for adjusting brightness and contrast, the other for adjusting color and tint. The patterns looked very good, like what you would find in good calibration discs. Also, now there is not only a blue-only mode, but red-only and green-only, too. These modes, along with the built in 'expert' color pattern I suspect could be used with the custom color space settings to get as good an adjustment possible without the aid of a calibration instrument.

The performance section of any review is the most important and ALL they mention is 3D performance...............whoop de fricken doo!

Did u see only the 46? Is there a 55?

This was the only C series LCD they had on display today. This was at the Fry's in Sunnyvale, CA.

Ah, I also noted that the C7000 has LED Motion Plus. Very nice.

I saw the UN46C7000 at Fry's today.

I'm sure a million people messed with the colors and settings. But what I saw was the C7000 next to a B8500.

The C7000 had brighter richer colors. It was really impressive. The BIG negative I saw was that on the bottom right and left corner, I could see an arc shaped light. I don't know what you call that, is it flashlighting? But it was really visible and distracting on all black scenes. I have not observed anything this bad on last years 6000/7100 series. Anyone else see this? Perhaps it was only on this unit, maybe someone set some settings too high?

I saw a samsung video on the 7000 that said that in the 2009 led models, they had led's all around the frame but on the 2010 models like the C7000, it was just a row on the top and bottom. Perhaps this is why the effect is very visible?

I'm a little dismayed. Usually every years models get better but this makes me think of buying a 2009 LED before they run out.

Thats exactly why im in "watch" mode. I cant decide which one to buy now :-(

Oh and to add to this, i wish Samsung has at least a 60 inches. If the B8500 were a 60 or 65, i would have bought one already.

Is the C8000 supposed to be the B8500's replacement? I and trying to decide which one to get. I can preorder a C800 for almost what the B8500's are going for.

are these prices for real? why so much cheaper? i cant find the specs of the new c-series anywhere on the samsung website. im cautiously excited, because if this is true, thanks to a special return policy i have, i could return my LN40B610 and get the LN46C630 and actually get money back!

What does the "PAVV" on the corner mean?

Maybe someone here can clear up a little confusion for me. I have seen at a handful of sites (best buy, amazon and abt to name three) a pre-order status for a Sammy 55" led/lcd, the UN55C6300. All these sites mention a ucp panel for this set, which as we know is highly reflective. All three ALSO mention as ABT does:

"The 6300’s LED Ultra Clear Panel absorbs ambient light and virtually eliminates reflections, for a more comfortable viewing environment.".................... WTF???

Is this wrong and perhaps just a marketing mistake by Samsung? Or maybe Samsung is mating a semi-matte type screen (like in the 630 series of ccfl-lit sets) with an led edge-lit set? The numbering system used by Samsung seems to indicate this. You would have a less expensive ccfl 630 vs. the costlier led 6300. I have not seen any mention of this model at CES or in Cleveland Plasma's list of 2010 models leading off this thread.

Consider me interested if this set has a screen less reflective than the ucp of 2009.

I was there at Fry's Sunnyvale around noon -- small world ha? In one of the scenes where this pendulum glyph swings back and fourth on a black background, did you notice if you saw some flashlighting in the lower right and left corner? I'd like to get a second opinion on this.

Yeah I'm with you. 60" and 65" are going to be semi affordable this year. Would love to get a large LED panel that I can leave on all day without killing my electric bill.

Some of the new Sony LED 60's use 225W if I remember from their website. Hopefully the Samsung 65"s will be miserly on power. Compare that with 500W on my Panasonic 50" Plasma as measured by kilawatt.
