Help: Denon 7.2 Channel 3310CI or ONKYO 9.2-Channel TX-NR1007B

I need help in choosing between Denon 3310CI and Onkyo TX-NR1007B. I am very confused and any duscussion of pro and cons would help bring some clarity to my dull mind.

Electronics-Expo right now has Denon 7.2 channel 3310CI for $826.52 shipped (after coupons and cash backs). Seems like a very good price for a well-regarded receiver.

Newegg has the Onkyo 9.2 channel TX-NR1007B for $970.20 (after cash back).

My primary criterion are:

(1) Home theater sound quality
(2) Two channel music-only quality
(3) Video processing and upscaling; input flexibility.
(4) Easy to use GUI

This is my first high-end receiver purchase and after reading for several hours I am still very confused which one to go with. This is going to be part of my primary HT system with Panasonic Plasma 50" G15 HDTV, PS3 and AT&T Uverse HD (may switch to Comcast in future). Subwoofer in Martin Logan 12" Abyss. Other speakers are mediocre but expect to pick something much better soon. Room is 20' X 18".

it seems Onkyo would be an obvious choice. But is it worth $143 more? More importantly, would it deliver better than the Denon?

TIA

One thing I read people complaining about on Newegg is that Onkyo has mechanical relays that make quite audible clicking noises when something is changed. Is that really an issue - I can't believe Onkyo would have something like this pass in their high end system.

Anyone? Or is this too stupid a question?
