New buyer here. Just bought a Toshiba 42ZV650U! Amazing television. I just wanted to see if anyone had any great calibration settings for the sports and game modes. I have read the threads and for standard and movie. Thanks for any help, settings, or advice!

I have an older toshiba, so I don't know if things have changed, since I'm not a professional calibrator. But in the old 42rv530u days (purchased feb 2008), only perefrence could be calibrated at all.

The service grayscale settings where per input, the service settigns for contrast, ect.. where per resolution, and the modes simply overlayed on the those.

Things may have changed though.

To my understanding I can calibrate all modes; sports, autoview, standard, movie, and sports.

basically when you have the idea that you can have multiple modes, the names aren't aren't important.

The only reason I can thing of to pic secondary calibration target is for increased birghtness. The guys in the truck for sports are looking at rec.709 displays, so you should be too. But if you want a daytime, nightime (lights on), nightime (lights off) mode I could see that with brightness at something like 300cd/m (2.2 gamma), 150cd/m (2.2 gamma), 100cd/m (2.3 gamma).

How bout this...

There is only 1 correct calibration for HDTV in the US.
The only variable is how bright you want it based on your room lighting conditions.

All those modes... "sports, movie, game, vivid, ect..." where made up by some in marketing.
