That's a threadcrap and one of yours here was already removed by a mod. How would you like it if in a thread for Lawrence Of Arabia someone did the same? It serves NO purpose and often derails the thread. That's why some Forums like DVDTalk ban threadcraps.

I appreciate comments about a film that run contrary to my own. I don't understand how it's bad to just say you don't like a film and why. I thought that was the point of discussing a film.

If I loved Magnolia, but if someone didn't, I wouldn't mind hearing why. I never understood the internet forum thing where differing opinions are bad. Yeah, it's a thread about the movie, but nowhere does it state it's a therad about the love of the movie only and only like comments are allowed. Just a little weird to me is all.

Available for order on Amazon, anyone here picked this up yet?

Yeah I've had my copy for a couple weeks.

Watched a Netflix copy. PQ was average at best. AQ was a bit better than that, especially when the frogs start flying.

On the fence for $18.99, please push me either way...thanks! Reviews/thoughts A/V quality? I liked the movie but last owned it on VHS.

Then grab the BD, you won't be disappointed. AV quality is perfectly fine, especially if you're a fan of the movie.

I thought this looked rather excellent and the sound was quite dynamic for this type of movie. I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up at all!

+1 I watched the first half last night and the detail was great for this time-period of film. All grain in tact and very detailed. I had headphones on and the audio sounded very full and detailed. Nothing average about the audio or video here. If you think this looks average, you need to check your equipment or pop-in Gladiator or Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves and rethink, lol.

Another vote here for crash ripping of Magnolia, and I don't really problem with that unless the movie sucked which it did. Forced drama and overracting was the culprit. Wheras Magnolia was so smooth & natural...is one those close to perfection ensemble that comes out once in a blue moon that also gets better with time like a great wine.

Like pulp fiction, braveheart, Leon and now this yr with watchmen...Magnolia is no doubt in my top 5 greatest of all time. # 1 for music score, funny too some scenes were bordering on being a musical. Btw for a serious drama, it had great humor and made me laugh way more than a comedy like The Hangover which was crap so its not fair I guess.

Thought there would be more chatter to tell the truth. I haven't gotten to this one yet but will shortly.

An old thread I know... but I didn't see any other threads on this movie and didn't want to start a new one just to say that I just saw this film for the first time ever. Anyway, just finished watching it on blu-ray and was quite impressed with all aspects of it. The casting was great and many of the performances outstanding. Check it out if you like serious drama with some added quirkiness and a really good musical score.

By far my favorite PTA film. The opening narration alone is worth the purchase. I adore every second of this movie.

Everything you just said is true.

Crash ripped off multiple films. Altman was an obvious inspiration for Magnolia among others. Crash was an average film that somehow leapt its way into BP for some scenes depicting emotion through racism. Sadly, and to Cronenberg's distaste, they also ripped off the name of his much better film about cars and sex.

Mmmmm K. For me, Cronenberg's CRASH was one of the most vile, unwatchable films ever created. Hated it.

Meanwhile, I watch MAGNOLIA once a year, every year.
