forum is soooo sloooow

Lately, the forum has gotten really bogged down. If you're on a high speed connection you probably wouldn't notice but it's killing me on dialup. Maybe it's time to archive and start anew?

You're only loading a page at a time, not all unarchived threads/posts. Whatever issue you're having wouldn't be helped by creating a new archive.

I think there may still be a problem, altho different this time, with the AVS image server.

Yesterday and the day before, pages would hang WITHOUT the normal gifs for clicking to go to the last post, the icons in left columnm, etc., then either "finish" its loading of gifs all-at-once or not at all (at least as long as I'm willing to wait). (I'm on DSL and clear cache regularly.)

Just happened again today.

Not gonna happen for a number of reasons - expensive, live in the boonies etc. Other vBulletin forums I frequent are much snappier.

We have not made any changes to the site and other than the eNom issue the other day, which had nothing to do directly with us, I have not seen anything.

Try clearing your cache to get new images loaded and cached and maybe that will help. Just a suggestion, but sure if it will help or not.

I noticed that several times yesterday, it's OK today. Seemed like the same issue as a few weeks ago.

+1, and for golinux on dial-up, not sure what browser you're using but when I was using dial-up I saw quite an improvement by using Firefox instead of IE. Hard to believe a browser could make such a difference but it sure did for me. IE was unbearable but FF was tolerable.

Urm . . . FYI IE doesn't even work on Linux (except in Wine kinda sorta).

Page load hung just now, with this graphic/ad not shown and never shown:

Not sure if that might be one of the page-loading holdups some people are experiencing now.

I still see occasional hangs on delivering all the icons on DVD Recorders forum main list... with and without cache cleaned.

I've been surfing AVS all day long with no hangups.
