2 quick questions before pulling the trigger on Epson 8100...

Unless someone talks me out of it, I'm going with the Epson 8100. 1st PJ.

First, I was planning on shelf mounting this on a small AV rack 16 feet from the screen. This AV rack is pretty low to the ground. I'd say the PJ would only be about 1 1/2 feet off the ground. I was under the impression that the vertical lens shift would allow me enough flexibility to pretty much "center" the 110" screen on my 7 foot wall. But, the calculator on the official Epson cite leads me to believe that if the PJ is in fact that low to the ground, it's not going to work. Maybe I'm reading the calculator wrong.

So, I guess my question is, if I place the PJ about 1 1/2 feet off the ground, 16 or so feet away and I have 7 ' walls, and my screen is 4 1/2 feet vertically, that leaves me 2 1/2' feet vertically on my wall of blank space. With the lens shift, can I divide that 2 1/2' evenly to make the screen appear fairly centered on the wall?

Second, I am having trouble locating one of these--Best Buy, Amazon, etc. Even the official Epson store is out. What are the best reliable online sellers?

And, by the way, if I've typed anything here that leads one to believe I'm about to make a big mistake, let me know!

Thanks.

-I think one of the biggest issues you will have is the fact that most objects in your room are more than a few feet tall. Even if you can swing it, which would be close, objects in the room will probably get in the way, as the projector is pretty darn low to the ground.

-May I ask if you can hang the unit from the ceiling, run the wires thru the wall or thru Hide a wire on the outside of the wall? ( There is no dought, that if there is a will, there is a way. Always helps if a persons pockets are deep though )

-The HC 8100 are hard to get, but they can be found . A good source for reliability is www.resellerratings.com .
