You are less likely to get help if you keep bumping your own thread every 10 minutes.

Unless you are using it at computer monitor distances I'd go for the 720p.

+1 yet again

If you ever plan to use it as a PC monitor, 1080p is *far* better in my opinion.

Conversely, for just HD video and video games, 720p or 1080p on a 26" TV probably doesn't matter at all. (You probably won't be able to see any difference.) Unless I'm mistaken, most X-Box games are actually rendered at 720p or less... then upscaled if it's set to output 1080p.

Most 26" screens marketed as HDTVs are still mostly 720p, but there are some / a few marketed specifically as dual purpose HDTVs / PC monitors, like the Samsung P2770HD with 1080p or higher resolution.

In the end, I would say that if you can find a good 1080p model at minimal price premium... there's no disadvantage to the extra resolution.

well i got an insignia 26" 720p and well after using my xbox in 720p i like it alot but what sucks is it that it takes real long to turn on,about 8 seconds to see something on the screen so ya and sound is alright i guess,i guess you get what you pay for,im planning return it and getting either a LG 26LH20-UA or a Toshiba 26AV502R/U..anyone have these tvs

I just bought the Vizio VL260M yesterday, very little tweaking besides turning off all the advance features and rifling through the color temp and Picture mode.

Razor Sharp picture. Sounds ehh but not bad for a 26 inch but it does have a headphone jack if you want to hook up a pair of computer/multimedia speakers.
It is 1080P which would be solid for a computer monitor and if watching Blu ray upclose. Also has a Film feature for 24fps, nice touch on a tv this size.

All and all great product great price.

Go to Sears or Walmart and grab the 26" LCD Element Electronic

Walmart:
ELCHW261

26" Class LCD HDTV
• Dual HDMI™ Connctivity
• 8,000 : 1 Contrast Ratio
• PC Input

Sears:
ELCHS262

26" Class LCD HDTV
• Dual HDMI™ Connctivity
• 6,000 : 1 Contrast Ratio
• PC Input

Christmas I had picked up the ELCHS322 at Sears which sports 10,000:1 DC it has a Ultra Bright Panel with it the contrast and brightness is perfect. I got Viewsonic VT2430 24" LCD HDTV with 10,000:1, 1080P, but suffered from backlight bleed around all 4 edges. Just shipped it back by UPS. Picked up VM230XVT cost more but not that great and it seems to be having a backlight issue on both left and right side of the screen. I going for the ELCHS262 at Sears since Walmart is out of the ELCHW261. I had got a SCEPTRE 195 HDTV dirt cheap to use as monitor but that was way too small 18.5, but as a HDTV it wasn't bad it doesn't have backlight bleed the picture is better on it than on Razor LED. There are some bad panels out there or just the Quality Control is not up to par.

It's going to be hard to assure a low response time on a 26in "TV", you may actually be better off with a PC monitor.

Hard for me to say for sure, since i'm not sure of the Xbox360 and it's quirks, not to mention that sometimes true monitors can have quirks when used as a TV.

32" LCD TV's have been researched a lot more, it would be easier to make a recommendation if you were looking for a 32".

Take a look at CEE PDF for all HDTV listings you can see what sets have what?
Television Qualifying Product List (PDF)

Which model did you get NS-L26Q-10A? I ended up with the DX-L24-10A and Ditched Razor 23" LED with its back-light issue. DX-L24-10A as the screen is more like the Element 32 with the deep black mirror finish look thus helps improve the contrast and black. Insignia 24 combo has the same type of finish. Most panels are matted. Later this year 1080P and Ethernet connections on these Best Buy sets, suppose to have them now. Weird!
