I've been shopping for a sub for awhile now, and think I've finally settled on either the JBL ES250 or the BIC Acoustech PL-200. I already sent back a Yamaha YST-SW315 because I felt like I was running it at its edge--I'd prefer to have plenty of headroom, both for showing off and so it lasts longer.
Anyway, both the JBL and the BIC have
-solid reviews from what I can find
-similar prices
-similar size
-12" front firing drivers
The JBL power ratings seem a lot better: the JBL says 400W vs the BIC's 250W, but I'm not sure I believe them. I feel like I'd be paying more for the name than the sub with the JBL, and I like that BIC is designed and built in the USA, but an extra 150W is hard to argue with. Any thoughts or experiences?
