MCE Volume Increases on fast forward

Strange question. I'm using Windows MCE 7 and when I fast foward anything (Live TV, DVD, Ripped DVD) in MCE, the volume increases. This happens during the first speed of fast forward when it is still playing audio, but if I increase the speed, the sound goes out completely, as expected. Has anyone encountered this? I'm using SPDIF for audio.

This is normal. It is because when only speeding up to the second speed, it decodes the Dolby Digital sound stream and sends it as PCM to the receiver. This sound is normally louder than the bitstreamed DD or DTS.

Ahh..This makes sense now. Similar to when I used to have Comcast Digital Cable and the non-HD channels were louder than HD. Is there any way to disable sound on that speed of fast forward? I know I could press mute every time I want to fast forward, but that would get old, and I really have no use for sound during fast forward. Disabling sound on fast forward would go a long way to making the HTPC more wife-friendly.
