Downloading it as we speak. Don't know what it fixes, but we'll see.

Just got it myself. I can't see what has been updated. Hopefully some of us can figure that out.

Awesome! I really hope it fixes all the crippling issues I've been having with Star Wars.

I've had zero issues with Star Wars, even before the update, but Scarface still won't play for me.
is there any possibility that the new update brings new features.
like...
iso file playing from usb drive ?

Do you bitstream to an AVR? When I choose Bitstream (Audiophile) and run with my Yamaha AVR, Star Wars (some discs more than others) frequently freezes the player, requiring a reboot. It's the only movie(s) that does it. When I set the audio to be internally decoded, it's fine. Maybe that means its an AVR problem and not the C6900, but I hope the update fixes it. I'll let y'all know.

I do Bitstream (Audiophile) through a DVDO Duo, then HDMI audio out to a Denon AVR-791, and HDMI video to a Projector.

The only disc I have a problem with at all is Scarface (boots me to the Samsung menu with an error as it tries to load.

I have zero problems with any other disk I play.

I had the same issues with Star Wars. I thought it was defective discs or something. Like I would try to go to a specific scene and the player would just hose. I'd reboot it and it would play like normal. Another thing, the Star Wars blurays have that thx media director. I guess since the player isnt thx certified it won't adjust any settings automatically like it's supposed to do. But anyway, still trying to figure out whats new or fixed with the update.

Is it possible to stream DTS through DLNA (ReadyNAS) to this player?
I have a few DTS CD's and a couple of DVD´s where I would like to rip and stream just the DTS audio on the player.

If possible, what container? I have tried with wav files but they won't play. However im not sure if i made something wrong convering them or if the player is incapable if playing DTS audio through DLNA. Some advice would be nice before I spend money on conversion software.

I've tried streaming a mkv of 1080p dts-ma and it was choppy. My sony gtv blu ray player played it fine (without loseless extensions though).

I don't believe I have anything that is just dts, but I can look later tonight.

Let me know if you find something. I managed to find a sample DTS file on the net but also this file failed to play. DTS files seems to be named .wav but DTS is a compressed format so I guess the player gets confused of what it finds in the file.

I found a 720p mkv sample file with DTS and it worked. I use Twonky as my media server.

FYI: Two firmware update ago broke some DLNA playback. A file which starts out as stereo and the changes to DD5.1. It plays audio fine at the start, but when the audio switches to DD audio is muted/stuttery. I emailed them and they offered no help. The new update doesn't fix it.

This player is very irritating when it comes to wireless connectivity in regards to some routers work with it, and others don't. They all work when you turn off the security.

The worst part of the whole deal is that the player has "refresh" bugs in the networking connectivity, meaning sometimes you have to power off/on then try to connect before you even are certain if it is not working.

Pretty sick of dealing with it, once you get it right it stays connected, but I had to reset my wireless router and now it will not connect again with any WPA/TKIP/AES combination, have tried 6 different ones.

Of course it is ONLY this BLURAY player that EVER has any issues connecting in my entire house of 10+ different wireless devices. POS when it comes to the way they programmed the wireless, it's completely random if it will connect sometimes after resetting a router and then re-enabling security.

I have had no problems connecting this player to my wireless network. Im using wps-psk aes security and the 6900 is connected everytime. It never drops or anything. Make sure you are putting in the passphrase in correctly. Caps and all or it will give problems. Just my 2 cents.
I've had the thing with 4 different routers, trust me its an incompatibility bug with the initial handshaking of the wireless password. It depends on the router. Some routers it will have no problem. I always use all lower case passwords, and easy ones at that. I am not entering the password wrong, lol...

And what routers are they? If you know for a fact that they are problematic then it's helpful to know what they are.

I can concur that the wireless on the 6900 is very picky. I had a D-Link (high-end model with QoS, ect) that the 6900 just would never sync with. I gave up on wireless and connected a ethernet cable.

Flash forward three months, the D-Link failed and I replaced it with a high-end Cisco. The 6900 has worked flawlessly with this wireless router from day one, with the EXACT configuration as the D-Link.

Go figure.

I have tried 2 c6900 and won't work with bitstream audiophile and dts-hd- no sound, both worked in the store with other receivers. seems that they are incompatible.

A few times during my HDX movies on VUDU, I get dropouts and buffering problems - despite a wired connection with 20mbp service.

So I decided to replace my BD-c6900 with the Panny BDT-210 and see if the problems persisted. So far, the problems with VUDU are gone.

I have tried 4 different X-Men First Class blu-rays on my C6900 and it won't even think about playing any of them. Samsung support says to wait for the next firware update, but they didn't know when that might be. Any time now would be nice. I still have yet to see this movie because of my F@*@#($& player.

Thinking about doing the same. How is the Panny 210 on Netflix? do you have the frame drop/studder like on the Sammy. Also do you get 5.1 audio on Neflix streaming?

Hello all,

I have the following setup problem.

AV: Marrantz SR5400 (quite old AV - no hdmi - but was thinking of using the analogs for audio)
TV/BD: The Bd-C6900 is connected to the TV via HDMI for picture - so the analogs are used with RCA's to the AV for sound (pcm selected in the samsung).

However i cannot get any sound from the speakers. At the moment i have only connected the front left/right and center speakers because i wanted to test the whole setup but can't get any sound
I admit i am not very much into this whole stuff...this is only my second AV setup, and the first one was kind of a package deal so everything was quite straightforward.
Now this is more complex.
Another question: Should i connect the AV with the TV as well, in order to get the TV sound through the AV to the speakers? Limited options there(Audio IN etc).

Thanks for any help.

Dimitris

Just bought x men first class on 2/10/12 and popped it into the c-6900 and it played with no problems whatsoever. Also used the bd-live features as well. My set up is as follows...

Panasonic p50-gt25
Pioneer vsx d-812k
samsung bd-6900

The samsung is connected to the reciever through 7.1 output for the reciever has no HDMI.

Also connected through toslink for dvd audio.

The Samsung is connected to the Panasonic directly with HDMI 1.4 cable.

The Samsungs toslink connection is connected to the reciever.
I believe and am absolutely positive that the sound reproduction coming from the 7.1 outputs is FAR SUPERIOR than using HDMI. I know this because a buddy of mine has the same player and is using HDMI for audio and video and he can't believe the difference.

Anyone aware of certain BD's ripped won't play? I rip my 3D BDs to disc to play so the originals don't get ruined but Rio, How 2 Train Your Dragon and Megamind won't play. The last 2 are Dreamworks titles. Anyone else do this and see this too? Very frustrating since the discs play on my PS3 - just not this player. The other rips all play fine (same BD media).

Ok - it's strange - my PS3 plays them fine but this player is 'fussy' and sometimes (though more less than often) it WILL let me play HTTYD but no Megamind or Rio

Perhaps you have a new player with Cinavia sensing software?

Serious Error after upgarding firmware to 1022.0 playing BD-R DLs (3D & 2D)

I have upgraded to latest firmware suggested in samsung website
(was 1022.0)

after that playing all my discs was impaired. I could not play BD-R DL
at all or could play very impaired.
first time I sent it to SAM SERVICE and they can't diagnose problem but
replaced main board so the firmware changed to 1013.0 and all things went
ok. It played correct. For new "THREE MUSKITIERS 3D" I had to upgrade
to play correctly. because for some Items old one does notplay some titles.
So after upgrading to 1022.0 I noticed problem is because of new and damaged
firmware. It causes optic not read BD-R DL ones. many of discs tried (both 2D and 3D) and all of them was faulty on BD-C6900 with 1022.0
All disc was playable on OLD and NEW samsung with old firmware and
all was Ok on PC BD-ROM and other brands linke SONY, LG, PANASONIC
with any firmware.

please guide me to corrected firmware or at least something
to downgrade firmware. my player is out of service with your new
faulty firmware,

I wonder if they fixed the issue with DLNA videos with a switching audio track. Probably not. An issue that didn't exist until they created it in early 2011.
