Can i use my PVR's RS232 port for VGA video?

Hi

I was wondering if i can use my THOMSON DSI8210 Sky Plus Digital PVR Receiver's RS232 for VGA video. We have just bought a SAMSUNG LE32B550A5 and want to try and get the best video quality possible from the SKY PLUS receiver. I have a feeling that this is not possible and we are only limited to dreaded SCART/COMPOSITE video.

I am most annoyed as i bought a new VGA cable only to later find that the standard male to male connection is NOT suitable here (SKY PLUS).

Can someone clarify this???

Many thanks

Chris

No, you can not. There's a lot of circuitry that would be needed (not to mention additional pins). RS232 is just a simple serial port, so no, that's completely impossible.
