Mitsubishi HC3800 keeps flikering at 1080p

I just bought this projector and have it hooked up through my yamaha receiver...the signla is coming from a hdmi desktop pc to my receiver and then one output cable to the projector

when displaying 1280x720 everything works fine...but when i try to change the on my desktop to 1920x1080 i see the image on the projector and then it quickly flickers on and off constantly.i have tried plugging directly to the projector as well and i get the same problem..i am running windows 7 and in the screen resolutions settings it picks up the projector model number as the output so not sure what it could be?

The first thing I would try would be to test your cables. Try hooking the PJ directly up to your PC first with one cable, if there's no problem, try the other. How long are the cables?

Also, do you have any other 1080p sources to try?

One other thing to try.. what is the refresh rate set to when you're trying to display 1920x1080?

Try setting it to 60HZ, I don't think the HC3800 will do greater than that.

Let us know how it works as I just ordered this projector myself!

will give it a try shortly! I just got home from work..the display was set to 60hz.i think it might be the pc so will mess around and report back

ive tried connecting directly to through my ps3 and when i set the display to 1080i or 1080p i get nothing on the display...my next try is gonna be trying a different hdmi cable but not looking good so far!

It's the cable, you need a better HDMI cable. Try Monoprice or BlueJeansCable and get a good one.
