Hey guys I got rid of my Onkyo TX-SR707. Which wouldve been a great receiver if it didn't have abnormal frame skip issues when passing 1080/24p through HDMI. Of course I ended up with a defective unit. Well I would really like to replace this unit with something that sounds at least as good the one thing the 707 had was ridiculously good sound. I was looking at the Yamaha RX-V1065 and the Denon 2310 over the 890 because I heard firmware updates are capable with the 2310 at home and not with the 890 (whether or not this is true I don't know). I'm a little against the Denon though because supposedly it has lag with video games and I am a gamer also. So this is also important. The Yamaha got pretty good reviews and it seems like there always considered great with very little quality issues. My question is between these 2 which is better? More importantly though what I want to know is am I missing an even better receiver for the same money. Honestly it's going to be hard to match the Onkyo's sound and I just want advice. Remember I don't want to spend more then $1000. The denon is $850 and the Yamaha is $899 on Amazon. Please help and please do not suggest another Onkyo I know I probably will not experience the same issue but others have so it seems more common then some people realize and do not want to possibly get the same issue with the NR807 for example.
