I'm able to get the sony kdl46v5100 for $999 with a free sony blu-ray but after all the issues I've read about it I'm hesitant to pull the trigger. Prior to finding this site most people on BB and Amazon said they loved it or really liked it but the ones that didn't all had the same issues. I don't know if they got defective ones or if the average consumer just didn't notice some of the issues like red flashing. After reading the concerns I started looking at other brand and found the Sharp lc46e77u for $998 and Samsung LN46B650 for $1099 (not sure if they meant model 630). I really didn't want to go over $1000 but will if it's worth it.
It's going to go in a pretty well lit room. It will be connected to FIOS via HDMI. Primary viewing will be high def televison stations with occasional blu ray movies, and football. I'm pretty much the average guy (newbie) that's going to set it once and not mess with it again. What do you think?
Also, can someone tell me what are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tier brands are that I keep reading about? Thanks!!
