Anyone else notice that Netflix added a whole bunch of titles this last week?

Mike Birbiglia, the comic, turned his standup into "Sleepwalk with Me". I liked it so much I watched it twice.

I use to race a 67 GTO at the local track. I appreciate a good car chase and race stunts.

It's a handsomely made sci fi comedy-not some cheap jack Asylum crap made in a bomb shelter in 2 days...biggrin.gif

Enjoyed this a lot! Thanks for the recommendation and I second it.

Hot babes, Nazis invading from the dark side of the moon, and Sarah Palin as the President - what more could you want? biggrin.gif

True Legend. Dude lets scorpions bite him and the venom makes his kung-fu epic.

"Rites of Passage" is quite a wild film but I enjoyed it though it is not for everyone.

Off topic but Starz is offering a free stream of Episode 1 of the new Spartacus season .. it's an excellent series if any of you have not seen it ..

http://www.starz.com/originals/spartacus/Videos/#/free-spartacus-war-of-the-damned-episode-1

pay it forward, please
^not a fan of spartacus

poor production - laughable dialogue, juvenile cursing, soft porn, and gore throughout in the most gratuitous of ways.

I was a huge fan of the movie 300 by comparison. They are not made the same way. The movie 300 is G rated by comparison. I was hoping for a series that was 300 like!

To each his own.

They do that every season. Showtime did the same thing for The Tutors and now The Borgias.

The producers have admitted going over the top on Season One .. some of us would argue that it has been "realistic" to the actual history ..

However, I just realized that Starz is showing it for free. I believe Showtime only offers on-line previews to subscribers.

It's obviously not for the squeamish. But blood and glory is the cultural theme for Roman history.

I guess it depends on the Showtime executives mood but they often have "free weekends" where you can see the first episodes. I think they just had another one with their new season of "Shameless" etc.

Is that on-line or TV?

On television...Showtime had a free preview weekend earlier this month. It was located under the On demand menu and label Showtime Free Preview.

They've done previews on their YouTube channel before but with "Shameless" there might be a lot of blurring and bleeping. biggrin.gif

And for those who like dystopian films "Hell" is very good. At least the actors didn't look like in the middle of an apocalypse they were able to shower and see their hairdresser. Also Roland Emmerich was executive producer.

I've been wondering about this one. The boxart is screaming for me to watch it.

Thanks. I was aware of that since I get messages on my DTV banner. I was referring to their on-line preview offerings which requires a pass code from your TSP.

I was really on the fence with this, but it's now in the Q ..

And the title reminded me "Hell on Wheels" .. if it's not been mentioned before .. excellent excellent series ..

Unfortunately AMC, which is new to the world of producing media, has put the third season on hold. Apparently they couldn't come to terms with the producer and now they have to find a new one. rolleyes.gif As I posted earlier, they were ready to retire The Killing, last year, but due to pressure from viewers and with the help of Fox Television, were able to work out an exclusivity agreement with Netflix, in return for sharing production costs. It's third season is currently in post production and will start filming next month.

Big thumbs up for Red Dog, a fun, quirky little Australia film about-what else-a lovable red dog and his influence on the residents of a small mining community.
