Where is Airboss?

I miss the gems that he finds.

Same here. Maybe he's taking a break? I hope he comes back. Definitiely made this area interesting.

It seemed like every time the he posted someone would come in and derail the thread into a bunch of nonsense. A shame. Now instead of viewed movie discussions this part of the forum is mostly a dump of "movie news" from blogs around the net.

*and I mean no disrespect - I like getting my news here too. Less sites to visit.

Have you checked your couch cushions? I usually find missing stuff there.

And ditto on the "derailing threads" thing. This section is turning more into the IMDB troll-fest (for lack of a better word) every day. I poked my head into the "most overrated movie 09" thread for two seconds and was disgusted at the conversation.

His user profile says "last activity" at 7:14 pm today. He hasn't posted since prior to Christmas.

Maybe his projector bulb died. Lets start a collection to buy Airboss a new bulb.

Hey Guys, I'm still here, just been taking a break posting (as wizzack noted it seemed like every time I posted the thread would get derailed into a bunch of nonsense...got tired of it).

I've been checking out the threads but not posting because it seems like the same thing is happening to a lot of those threads also. In the meantime I have watched a lot (over 125) of very interesting and some not so interesting movies.

Bright Star
Black Devil Doll
The Book of Eli
Sherlock Holmes
The Lost of a Teardrop Diamond
Blood Creek

The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Mary and Max
Run Bitch Run
Daybreakers
Triumph of the Sprit
Paris

Fantastic Mr. Fox
.... to name a few.

I'll post some info on some of the more interesting ones soon, I do miss sharing and discussing those.

BTW, this thread caught me by surprise wmwilker; thanks for asking about my whereabouts.

Is Run Bitch Run like the hip-hop version of Run Lola Run or something? :-)

You are appreciated by some as you can see.

Thanks

Oooooh! L'instinct de mort has Elena Anaya in it!

I'm going to have to chase down a copy of that one.

wizzack, Black Devil Doll is as crazy as it looks and more! Low budget exploitation/horror at it's best! There are so many laugh out loud hilarious scenes, one liners and WTF moments I didn't want it to end. Lots of offense language and nudity; it is over-the-top racist and sexist! This film falls into the "not for everyone" category. If you offend easily do not watch this movie, the warning on the DVD box says it all "This film offends everyone!"

Well worth the $19.00 price. I've all ready seen it three times and everyone I've watched it has with loved it!

Available from www.blackdevildoll.com, eBay and Amazon.com.

As far as horror goes, for me "Deadline" starring Brittany Murphy and Thora Birch was a big letdown, so was "Pig Hunt".

"Run! Bitch Run!" is a throwback to classic exploitation rape and revenge films like "The Last House on the Left" (1972) and "Ms. 45". The gore is minimal but the violent is brutal, you may like this one.

"Blood Creek" aka "Town Creek" was only Ok for me, of course YMMV.

"Hanger" is another one you may like, it has lots of gore.

But if you want real horror then be sure to check out "Nanjing! Nanjing!" aka "City of Life and Death". This is a great movie but very disturbing!

"Nanjing! Nanjing!" is rated R for wartime violence and atrocities including sexual assault, and for some sexuality and brief nudity.

Good to see you posting again Airboss, but how do you get the time to watch all these movies ?
I'm not complaining since I get some good tips, especially since you seem to enjoy foreign movies as well.
Even though I'm from Sweden it tend to be news about swedish movies and US movies, everything else is by my own research and word of mouth.
So thanks for sharing.

By the way, which one of these came first or are they seperate storys but with the same character ?

L'instinct de mort
L'ennemi public n°1

Seems like the imdb plot text is the same or almost the same between the two.

Thanks Fredrik.

"L'instinct de mort" - Public Enemy Number One (Part 1) was released first followed by "L'ennemi public n°1" - Public Enemy Number One (Part 2).

It gets confusing since they both have similar names.

"L'instinct de mort" aka

Mesrine: Killer Instinct (UK) (USA)
Mesrine: L'instinct de mort (France) (poster title)
Mesrine: Part 1 - Death Instinct (International: English title)
Nemico pubblico n. 1 - L'istinto di morte (Italy)
Public Enemy Number One (Part 1) (International: English title)

"L'ennemi public n°1" aka

Mesrine: Public Enemy No. 1 (UK) (USA)
Mesrine: Public Enemy Number One (UK/USA) (alternative spelling)
Mesrine - L'ennemi public n° 1 (France) (poster title)
Mesrine: L'ennemi public n° 1 (France) (promotional title)
Mesrine: Part 2 - Public Enemy #1 (International: English title)
Mesrine: Part II - Public Enemy #1 (International: English title)
Public Enemy No. 1, Part 2 (International: English title)

I like part one the best, but both are good. Part two picks up where part one leaves off (actually they overlap a little).

BTW have you seen any of the Millennium trilogy films; "Män som hatar kvinnor", "Flickan som lekte med elden" or "Luftslottet som sprängdes"? I've seen the first two and I really enjoyed both. Haven't had the opportunity to see the last one yet but from what I've read it should be a nice finish to the trilogy.

I've seen two release dates for the Swedish DVD/Blu Ray "Luftslottet som sprängdes", 3 March and 15 March 2010; not sure which is the correct date but if I can find some English subtitles I plan on ordering it.

Thanks for the explanation, forgot to check the AKA list

I've only seen the first two as well, I checked three of the larger webshops here and they list it as 3:rd of March (BluRay)
However I only see scandinavian subtitles on the info of the release.
Sometimes they contain more subtitles than listed though.

Sounds like my kind of movie.

Good to have you back Air.
