Kansas City, KS - Timewarner, SD channels going digital (digital simulcast)

Not sure if anyone else has noticed. But it seems like they have finally started the digital simulcast.

All of the SD locals are now digital ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. As well as a bunch of other channels 0-99... i.e. spike and some others.

Discovery and Science channel are still analog last I checked...

Seems KC is on it's way to being fully digital soon. (about time IMO)

Disc, Science, Hist are all digital now as well. Seems most of the channels are, not quite all yet but the majority of them are now digital.

I wonder how long now until they start dropping the analog channels. I'm sure they'll start axing them one by one now over time... Which is good for adding more HD channels; but probably bad for the house that's still using the analog cable in the kitchen/garage/extra bedrooms...

Really you should be able to buy your own vanilla cable box and not have to pay rental fee's at all anyway.... including the cable card. System is setup poorly for consumers.

just plugged a new HD TV into my cable line (no cable box), and it indicated that it found 50 HD channels and 71 analog. I found 8 HD channels, but they do not seem to match any channel line ups that I can find. Does anyone know where I can find one?

channels are: 73.6, 93.12, 90.12, 89.12, 89.6, 88.2, 88.1, 83.1. (At least these are all confirmed as 1080 channels

Go to Titantv.com and enter your zip code and cable company info and you'll see all channels, analog and digital that are on the system. Note that, many cable systems duplicate the SD locals as digital QAM stations, which boosts the ch count. There may also be video on demand preview ch with strange channel digits and a few other junk chs. .

Go to the SiliconDust website, enter your zip in the appropriate box and pick 'Cable'. That'll tell ya.
