as you probably remember I am one of the members here who uses Genelec 3-way monitors for HT duty.
The Genelec 8260 with it's coaxial driver and DSP is certainly a very capable speaker. Problem is - it would be a downgrade for me regarding headroom and dynamics. Right now I use 5 Genelec 1037C. The plan is to use the 1037 as surround speakers and upgrade to something "bigger and better" for the front stage. I had my eyes on the 1034B for quite some time but I don't want to upgrade to anything other than a DSP speaker at this point.
I also bought a Mark Seaton Catalyst to compare it to the Genelecs. For those interested these are my thoughs: http://www.seaton-sound-forum.com/post?id=4897368
So the 8260 is just too "small" for me. My dream speaker would be somehting like a 1034B with Co-Axial driver, still 2x 12" bass and DSP processing. Practically a large 8260 as main monitor.
I would love to hear if Genelec is working on a DSP main monitor lineup to replace their aging (but still at the top end accoustically) 10xx series?!
